[ALBERT SZENT-GYORGYI:] Soon I found that there was in oranges a funny substance in my experiments. ["Ruff house" interview, 1980] And what the chemists always do is to isolate it, to get it out in pure condition. [Dr. Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Bio-Chemist] Then we can do something with it. So I got it out in pure condition and once you have it pure you can do all sorts of funny things with it. And the one thing was to give it to guinea pigs, which showed that this was the vitamin C for which mankind was looking already for 200 years.
