PRODUCT:   49 bushels of apples at St. Louis, Mo.
NATURE OF CHARGE:    Adulteration, Section 402 (a)  (1), the product contained
an added poisonous or deleterious substance, lead, which may have rendered
it injurious to health. 
DISPOSITION:    December 1, 1948.    Default decree of condemnation.    The product
was ordered delivered to a charitable institution.    The decree provided further
that the apples be peeled before use and that the peelings be destroyed.
