2145. Adulteration of corn meal. U. S. v. 107 and 13 Bags of Corn Meal. Default decree of condemnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 5077. Sample No. 5370-E.)- This product contained rodent excreta and rodent hairs. On July 5, 1941, the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Ten- nessee filed a libel against a total of 120 bags of corn meal at Jellico, Tenn., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about June 20, 1941, by the Burnside Milling Co. from Burhside, Ky.; and charging that it was adulterated in that it consisted in whole or in part of a filthy sub- stance. The article was labeled in part: (Bags) "Perfection Corn Meal." On July 28, 1941, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemnation was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
