ROBERTS' WORM CANDY! A child, when troubled with a worm Will often fret, and cry and squirm. It's stomach swells, it picks its nose, And thus the little sufferer goes. At night, the child finds no relief- It's pillow's wet with tears of grief- A leaden hue beneath the eye Proclaims to you that worms are nigh; And if it don't soon get relief, It's anxious friends may come to grief. Low in the grave your child may lie, Unconscious yonr tearful eye. Don't give your children Calomel, For you must surely know fuil well The Poison m,ky spread through their veins And cause them grief and lasting pains. But Roberts' Candy, you will find Will cast aside all other kind; Will set your children's health all right, And give their losing friends delight. Thousands of children die from the effect of worms, while their death is generally attributed to other causes, or disease. Much sickness, suffering and death might be prevented if persons understood this, and would seek to guard against them in the proper way. When children are fretful,, restless at night, have hard or swollen stomach, a leaden or dark hue beneath the eye, pick the nose, have a voracious or variable appetite, or none at all, a pale face or a flushed one, if is generally certain that worms cause ihem. and although but one or two only of these symptons may exist, if tlo patient is not relieved, all the others may soon bllow, and death results. These symptoms in grown persons also, are from ; he same cause. The world is flooded with worm remedies, many of which contain Calomel (an article I never use in medicine) or other articles equally injurious, which by manufacturers are introduced, under the impression that they are indis- pensable, which is clearly demonstrated to be erroneous. I am now offering to the public a remedy strictly vegetable, (tested first in my own family, then by others) which has proved itself thoroughly''effectual, and impossible to do harm. An erroneous opinion prevails that if worms are not visible after the oper- ation of medicine, that the medicine is not effectual, or that the patient is not affected with them ; but worms are frequently digested when destroyed and passed in a slimy or gelatinous form. When this is the case, and one, or the general symptoms are abated, it is proof that the medicine is effectual, and after giving it according to directions, it should be omitted a few days and then again administered until all symptoms disappear.
