Dear Sir:

I am returning, under separate cover, the transcription
of the testimony taken ot the hearing before the Committee
on Printing of the Senate June 23,1924, My testimony has
been corrected as requested. —

There is submitted as additional evidence an article
on drug addiction by AsGeDullez and meee which was pub«
lished in Public Health Reports dated May 23,1924. There
ig also submitted an editorial comment from tho Journal
of fhe American Medical Association on this article and the
one Mr,Richard ?.Hobson desires to have published, In
reading over his article again, I find little in it that is
accurate other than matters of commonplace knowledges The
effect of the wholesale distribution of this pamphlet would
be to spread misinformation, arouse unwarranted fears and
excite curiosity. The fears wold produce many cases of
unhappiness, nervousness and insanity, and the curiosity
would produce some new cases of addiction.
