A CATALOGHE OF THE MEDICAL LIBRARY, 4 4 *** BELONGING TO THE Worcester District Medical Society, W0K C ESTER: TMUNTIcn I!Y KDWABD R. FISK F. 1 86j>. CATALOGUE . / OF THE * LIBRARY OF THE WORCESTER DISTRICT MEDICAL SOCIETY. WORCESTER: PRINTED BY EDWARD R. FISKE. 1865. PREFACE. Thfe design in the construction and arrangement of this Cata- logue, is to facilitate the finding of any book, which the Library contains, of which doubts exist as to its Author or Title; as well as to furnish a direct guide for this purpose, where these are really known. In addition to this, it was thought desirable to fur- nish some clue to such important subjects as are incidentally treated of in the books, yet to which the Title Page makes no allusion. This will explain the cause of the adoption of so elab- orate a system of cross-references, which might otherwise be thought too numerous and altogether useless. Thus the Catalogue becomes a key to the valuable contents of the Library, as well as a guide to the locality of each book. That the arrangement of the books on the shelves of the Library, has reference entirely to externals rather than to their contents, titles, or Authors, will be seen by a cursory examination of the Catalogue. Nevertheless it is hoped that the correct numbering of the books, and care in keeping them in their proper places on the shelves, together with the accuracy of the references in the Cata- logue, which has been particularly aimed at, will enable any per- son wishing to do so, to find any book in the Library with little difficulty. The reference of the numbers to the books and shelves, will be readily apparent. CATALOGUE. Abdomen. Andral, G. On diseases of the 11.88 Ballard, Edw.
