Dear Adami,
Sorry I could not wait to see you this p.m., but I had to join the Harvard unit at 4 sharp. I missed Bruce at St. James Sq., and failed to catch him by telephone. He has not yet replied to my queries--whether Jones was consulted (1) as to the Commission, and (2) as to the men. If he was not I shall write a protest to Hughes, cable to Borden, and resign my positions as Consultant at Cleveden, Orpington etc. I leave tomorrow for Newcastle (Bishop's Palace), back Monday.
