Davidson introduced the following bill: A BILL For the establishment of a national quarantine station near Key West, Florida. ' 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- '—— 2 lives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and is hereby, au- 4 thorized and instructed to select a site on one of the islands 5 near Key West, Florida, and cause to be erected thereon 6 suitable buildings, appliances, and approaches for a quaran- 7 tine hospital, plans for the same to be approved by the Su- 8 pervising Surgeon-General of the Marine Hospital Service; 9 the said quarantine hospital shall be under the direction of 10 the Supervising Surgeon-General, under authority of the na- 11 tional quarantine act of April twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred 12 and seventy-eight; and that the sum of fifty thousand dol- 13 lars be, and the same is hereby, appropriated, out of any 14 moneys in the United States Treasury not otherwise appro- 15 priated, to carry out the provisions of this act, the same to be 16 immediately available.
