A BILL 
Providing for the purchase of property on Staten Island for the 
marine hospital at the port of New York. 
1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa- 
2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 
3 That the Secretary of the Treasury is hereby authorized and 
4 directed to purchase, at a sum not exceeding two hundred and 
5 eighty thousand dollars, from the present owners, the property 
6 in the town of Middletown, Richmond County, New York, 
7 known as the Seaman’s Retreat, consisting of thirty acres, 
8 more or less, and the buildings thereon, together with a water February 11,1884.—Bead twice, referred to the Commit- 
tee on Commerce, and ordered to be printed.
