We .ire now in receipt of replies from our medical correspondents in 152 cities and towns 
of the Commonwealth, to circulars issued in April and May. They include a great deal of valuable 
information relative to the causes of disease; and a summary of the results will be published in our 
next annual report. 
The whole number of correspondents appointed by the towns was 270. From 118 no replies 
have yet been received. We are very desirous to make these inquiries as complete as possible, and 
will esteem it a great favor if you will answer the enclosed questions at your earliest convenience, and 
send them to the above address.
