The present pamphlet is intended to answer to the many 
inquiries, daily received, from physicians about the applications 
of Peroxide of Hydrogen and Glycozone to the Therapeutic. 
The antiseptic or bactericide properties of these two harmless 
chemicals have been well established long ago. 
Concerning the Peroxide of Hydrogen, I am entitled to say 
that, since I have succeeded in manufacturing the most reliable 
article, unscrupulous druggists and manufacturers have been base 
enough to place the physician's reputation as well as the life of 
his patient in jeopardy by substituting worthless imitations which 
are totally unfit for medical purposes.

OF 
PEROXIDE OF HYDROGEN AND GLYCOZONE. 
Experiments of Pasteur, Dr. Koch, and other scientific 
authorities, prove beyond doubt that the Bacteria or 
Microbes cause and develop Diphtheria, Sore-throat, 
Catarrh, Whooping Cough, Old Sores, Gangrenous 
Ulcers, Carbuncle, Scarlet Fever, Small-pox,Typhoid 
Fever, Consumption, and all other chronic affections. 
Microbes are instantaneously annihilated when brought into contact with 
Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen or Glycozone. I publicly demonstrate 
these facts every day at my laboratory, where poor people are cured free of 
charge. Dyphtheric membranes, for instance, are invaded by a large num- 
ber of bacteries. 
These cuts illustrate a well-developed case of diphtheria before and after its cure 
by use of Ch. Marchand s Peroxide of Hydrogen and Glycozone.

It Is obvious that any antiseptic, used in proportions varying with its bacte- 
ricide power, will destroy a given amount of microbes. 
It is obvious also that the safety, and consequently the efficiency of the 
treatment, depends greatly upon the more or Jess toxicant, corrosive and 
irritating properties of these antiseptics. 
I now take the liberty to submit to the profession the results of compara- 
tive tests which I have made, in order to demonstrate experimentally the 
difference between the bactericide potency of t ie following chemicals acting 
upon a diphtheric membrane for the destruction of microbes, present in half a 
gramme of the said membrane.

required to annihilate microbes. 
Thymole, eucalyptus, bicarbonate of soda, lime water, turpentine, have 
no action at all upon the microbes of a diphtheric membrane when they are 
developed ; but they may have, to a certain extent, a preventive action upon 
the development of the spores. 3 
The permanganate of potash, the hypochlorite of lime, the bichloride of 
mercury and the aqueous solution of chlorine gas, destroy the microbes in a 
very short time; but besides being poisonous, they leave as a residue a sub. 
stance of a peculiar nature, which has the property of help to the reproduction 
of the same kind of microbes. 
In fact, it is well enough to destroy microbes, but it is very illogical to 
accomplish this destruction by using remedies which may have the most dan- 
gerous effects upon the patient's life. 
It is worthy of note that all of the above mentioned bactericides have toxi- 
cant, corrosive or poisonous properties, except Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of 
Hydrogen, which is absolutely harmless. 
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC. 
Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen medicinal, is a 15 volumes capacity 
or, 3^ per cent, solution. When a pint of this solution is decomposed, it 
furnishes 15 pints of nascent oxygen or ozone, 1 pint of water remaining. 
Ch. Marchand's Glycozone is nothing else but chemically pure glycerine 
saturated with active ozone. 
Both of these very powerful and harmless bactericides are intended to 
be used for a local antiseptic treatment, internally or externally. 
Consequently, they do not exclude the general medication which may 
be deemed necessary by the physician. 
CAUTION.-No metallic substance should come in contact 
with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen or Glycozone, except 
silver, gold or platinum. Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen or 
Glycozone will not deteriorate if kept in a cool place, such as a 
cellar or ice-box. 
It is advisable to apply Chas. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen and Glyco- 
zone full strength, but it is not always possible in cases when the sore is exceed- 
ingly tender. This explain why it is recommended to dilute these powerful though 
harmless remedies according to the degree of tenderness of the infected surface. 
When Chas. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen is applied to a sore, the 
cleansing is accomplished after the contact of one to two minutes. Take good 
care not to remove the white foam which is formed by the decomposition of 
Chas. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen into " Ozone and Water" when the 
Peroxide comes in contact with pus or infected sores. 4

Peroxide of Hydrogen and Glycozone 
in the Therapeutic. 
THE TREATMENT. 
Abscesses.-When an abscess has been opened, irrigate the soreorwash it 
out copiously with a mixture of half Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen and 
half water. Should the amount of pus be very great, use Ch. Marchand's Per- 
oxide, full strength, in order to insure the complete annihilation of microbes. After 
the sore has been thoroughly cleansed by the action of Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide, a dressing should be made, in both cases, with pure glycozone, ap- 
plied directly on the sore by means of a soft camel's-hair brush. A compress 
made with a double thickness of lint soaked in Peroxide should cover the sore. 
Two dressings made daily will assure the patient a rapid and certain cure. 
In some instances the physician will have to prescribe an internal treatment 
appropriate to the case. 
Cold Abscesses.-Ganglionary Abscesses or Chronic Abscesses. 
-When the abscess has been opened, inject or irrigate the sore with Ch. 
Marchand's Peroxide, full strength; apply the glycozone as it is explained for 
ordinary abscesses, and cover it with a compress of lint soaked in Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide, full strength. Three dressings should be made daily. Internal 
treatment appropriate. 
Abscesses by Congestion.-These abscesses are very dangerous. They 
should be first opened and then washed through with frequent and copious 
irrigations, using full strength Ch. Marchand's Peroxide in order to destroy 
rapidly the microbes which are present. The most powerful and energetic 
bactericide treatment is necessary in these particular cases, where the infection 
spreads very rapidly. 
Besides the frequent and copious irrigations, the sore should be dressed twice 
or three times daily with pure glycozone, and the compress of Peroxide should 
be renewed several times during the day. • 
Tonsilar Abscesses.-As soon as the abscess has been opened,copious and 
frequent irrigations of the throat should be administered with a solution of 
Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen for % tepid water. The microbes and 5 
the pus will be readily destroyed, and a complete cure will be obtained in a 
very short time. It is the safest treatment. 
Abscesses of the A nus.-When it is a phlegmonous abscess, Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide should be applied as explained for ordinary abscesses. On the 
contrary, where there is a fistula, a solution of y2 Ch. Marchand's Peroxide 
for % water should be injected frequently and copiously and a mixture of glyco- 
zone with y2 C. P. glycerine should be applied in the same manner, twice every day. 
Hematics and Stercorous Abscesses.-The piles or hemorrhoids are 
the cause of these small abscesses. They must be opened as soon as possible. 
Frequent and copious washing or irrigations administered with % Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide and % water will assure the patient a rapid and certain cure. 
The glycozone should be applied every evening. 
Urethral Abscesses.-Open the abscess and inject frequently a mixture of 
i part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 3 to 8 parts of tepid water. The cure is 
obtained very rapidly, and there is no danger to irritate the surrounding tissues. 
Mastoid Abscess.-When the abscess has been opened, inject into the 
cavity, threeorfour times consecutively, a solution of % Ch. Marchand's Peroxide 
for y tepid water. A few minutes later, inject a small quantity of glycozone 
and cover the sore with lint. Two dressings, morning and evening, will assure 
a prompt cure, and there is no danger of producing any inflammation or irrita- 
tion. It is undoubtedly the safest treatment wrhich can be applied. 
Acne (or Pimples on the Face}.-The internal treatment appropriate to 
the nature of this affection should be followed punctually. 
As a local antiseptic treatment, spray the face three times daily with a 
mixture of 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 3 to 4 parts of water. Allow the 
liquid to dry on the face. At night, rub gently the diseased surface with a 
little glycozone. 
Vulvarous Acne.-Women might prevent this painful affection by taking 
every day an injection with 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 15 parts of water. 
This disease is cured safely and speedily by taking injections twice or three 
times every day with a mixture of 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 4 to 6 parts 
tepid water. In chronic cases, a mixture of y2 glycozone for y2 C. P. glycerine 
should be applied twice daily, in order to obtain a prompt and complete cure. 
Ampulla Or Blisters. - Burst the ampulla or blister, and wash the sore 
with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide. A later application of glycozone will cure very 
rapidly any sore of this nature. 
Anginas.-Irrigate, spray, or gargle the throat copiously and frequently 
with 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 4 to 6 parts of tepid water. 6 
It is the safest antiseptic treatment for its harmlessness and very powerful bac- 
tericide properties. Glycozone should be administered internally in severe cases. 
Aphthae (or Internal Ulcerations of the Moutli).-Gargle several times the 
mouth with a mixture of I part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 4 to 6 parts of 
tepid water. The cure will be obtained in less than 24 hours. 
Antrax or Carbuncle.-The bacillus antracis, which are the cause of 
this dangerous affection, are destroyed almost instantaneously when brought 
into contact with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen. After a short con- 
tact, 60 to 70 seconds, the annihilation of the bacillus is complete. 
As soon as the antrax or carbuncle has been opened, which is generally 
four or five days after its apparition, it should be treated as follows : 
1st. Wash or irrigate the sore (three times daily) copiously and repeatedly 
with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide, full strength, taking great care that the liquid 
should be thrust into the discharging sinuses, in order to insure the rapid and 
complete destruction of the bacillus. The pus is destroyed at the same time 
and the cleansing of the sore is perfect. 
2d. Apply the glycozone in the same manner. The sore should be covered 
with a treble thickness of absorbent lint soaked into Ch. Marchand's Peroxide, 
full strength. 
Three dressings made daily will keep the sore perfectly clean and sweet, 
and it will rapidly stimulate healthy granulations. No irritation need to be 
feared. It has been proven lately that the poulticing of a broken carbuncle 
helps growth of the bacillus antracis; consequently it should never be done. 
An internal treatment appropriate to the case should be prescribed by the 
attending physician. 
Asthma.-Inhalations of ozonized vapor should be administered four to 
six times daily. The ozonized vapor is produced mechanically by using Ch. 
Marchand's hand atomizer and ozonizer. It is very important to notice that 
any similar apparatus made of metal should never be used in connection with 
Ch. Marchand's Peroxide. 
The action of pulverized Ch. Marchand's Peroxide, or ozonized vapor, 
upon the diseased surface of the bronchis or the cells of the lungs, is similar 
to the action of this bactericide upon any sore or ulcer which is invaded by 
microbes. The microbes are instantaneously destroyed, and the surrounding 
tissues remain normal and in a very healthy condition. 
The following mixture for inhalations has given the most satisfactory 
results: 1 oz. Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 1 oz. C. P. glycerine. 
The same mixture will keep its healing properties for three days. Each 7 
inhalation should not exceed ten minutes. In connection with the above local 
treatment, the physician will prescribe an appropriate internal medication, and 
the patient will remain indoors for a half hour after each inhalation. 
For this disease, a careful examination of the nose and throat should be 
made by a specialist. 
Bed Sores.-The best preventive and curative remedy for bed sores is the 
local application of Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen. 
The part exposed to pressure should be washed morning and evening with 
I part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for i part tepid water, and gently rubbed 
afterwards with a little glycozone. Cover with lint. 
Bladder, Diseases Of the.-In chronic inflammation, the bladder should 
be washed morning and evening with a mixture of i part Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide for 6 to io parts tepid water. A hard rubber catheter or irrigator 
should be used exclusively. This treatment does not irritate the healthy tissues. 
The internal medication should be rigorously observed. 
Boils. -Once opened after maturity, inject Ch. Marchand's Peroxide 
into the sore. The microbes are immediately annihilated and the pus is de- 
stroyed; then apply the glycozone by means of a hard rubber or glass syringe; 
the whole to be covered with a double thickness of lint soaked in Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide. Two dressings made daily will bring a very rapid cure. 
Breath, Foul.-Irrigations of the nostrils and frequent gargle adminis- 
tered with I part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 4 to 6 parts tepid water, 
followed by inhalations of ozonized vapor (see Catarrh), will cure rapidly 
that repulsive trouble. 
Bronchitis.-Three inhalations of ozonized vapor, administered daily in 
chronic bronchitis, is the most efficacious local treatment which can be pre- 
scribed, on account of the harmless antiseptic properties of Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide of Hydrogen. It checks profuse bronchial secretion, and it has a very 
stimulative action upon the healthy tissues. 
The following mixture, mechanically vaporized, has given the most satis- 
factory results: 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 1 part C. P. glycerine. An 
appropriate internal medication will contribute greatly to the relief of the 
patient submitted to the above local treatment. In this malady Ch. Karchand's 
Peroxide destroys the microbes and the pus, leaving the surrounding tissues 
perfectly normal and in a very healthy condition. 
Bubo.-Indolent and broken buboes are treated with wonderful results by 
Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen (full strength) and Glycozone. 1st. 
Cleanse the sore with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide, by washing or by copious 8 
irrigations three times daily. 2d. Apply the glycozone directly on the sore, and 
cover the whole with a treble thickness of lint soaked into Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide. This treatment will heal the sore in half the ordinary time, and 
prevent absorption, thus preventing further encroachments of the disease. 
Burns.-1st. Cleanse the sore with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide, full strength 
(if possible). In some cases, when the sore is very tender, the Peroxide should be 
applied diluted. 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 2 to 4 parts of tepid water. 
Then apply glycozone, pure or mixed, with half C. P. glycerine, and cover the 
whole with a double thickness of lint soaked in Ch. Marchand's Peroxide. 
Two dressings, morning and evening, will keep the diseased surface in a 
very healthy condition, and it will heal very rapidly. 
Cancerous Sores.-1st. Cleanse, three times daily, with Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide; dilute the Peroxide when it is absolutely necessary. 2d. Apply the 
glycozone twice daily. Cover the whole with a heavy thickness of lint soaked 
in Ch. Marchand's Peroxide. The sore will be kept perfectly clean and sweet, 
and the stimulative action of Ch. Marchand's Peroxide and Glycozone will be 
apparent after a few dressings. 
In many cases it will be necessary to thrust the liquid into discharging 
cavities, in order to reach a complete and immediate contact with the infected 
parts. This can be obtained by injections. 
In cases of cancer of uterus, frequent and copious injections should be 
administered in the vagina with 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 3 to 5 
parts tepid water, and a local application should be made with lint soaked in a 
mixture of 1 part glycozone for 1 part C. P. Glycerine. Applied to foetid cancers, 
on their surface or in the uterus, this treatment is unequalled. No irritation, 
corrosive or toxic effects need be feared. 
Catarrh, Recent or Chronic.-1st. Cleanse the nostrils by irrigations 
or a liquid-spray administered with 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 5 to 
7 parts tepid water, according to the degree of inflammation. 2d. Irrigate 
also the throat with the same solution. 3d. In some cases it will be very 
useful to administer ozonized vapor inhalations after each cleansing, 
but the irrigations are always the most efficacious part of the treatment. 
Any suitable atomizer made exclusively of hard rubber or glass will answer to 
produce the spray. Ch. Marchand's Hand Atomizer and Ozonizer has the 
advantage over others that it can be made to produce the spray for the throat 
or the nose, and by connecting the vaporizing bulb A, to administer ozonized 
vapor inhalations wi.th a mixture of 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 1 part 
C. P. glycerine. 9 
The mixture of Glycerine with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen 
should be thoroughly made, otherwise the spray-tube of the apparatus would 
become clogged on account of the syrupy nature of the Glycerine. 
After having irrigated the nostrils with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of 
Hydrogen, do not blow the nose too hard, as it might cause temporary bleeding. 
When the chronic catarrh of the nose is very severe and painful, it is advisable, 
before retiring, to apply to the nostrils two to three drops of pure Glycozone, 
sniff it hard, as it will accelerate the cure considerably. 
The above described treatment in cases of Hay-fever is the only 
cure for this periodic and very repulsive and troublesome disease. 
In many cases the incurability of chronic catarrh of the nose or Hay-fever 
is due to the partial or complete obstruction of the nostrils caused by some 
abnormal conditions or growth differing in their nature. In such cases, apply 
the Peroxide of Hydrogen by irrigation, and, after a few days, if the excrescence 
does not disappear, it will be necessary to remove it, in order to accomplish 
an absolute and permanent cure. 
After these excrescences have been properly removed or destroyed by 
means of the thermo cauter or any other operation (no caustic should be used by 
any means) the cure is certain, and it will be accomplished in a very short time 
by following strickly the above described treatment, which is the most logical 
of all, on account of the healing power of Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen. 
It is interesting to give here the list of antiseptic remedies, which are 
usually prescribed in order to subdue this sickness. 
They are: Bichloride of Mercury, Sulphate of Zinc, Alum, Calomel, 
Nitrate of Silver, Carbolic acid, Salicylic acid, Permanganate of Potash, 
Borax, Boracic acid, Subnitrate of Bismuth, Extract of Eucalyptus, Thymole, 
etc., etc. 
It is easy to understand why Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen will 
accomplish a sure and permanent cure while the above mentioned bactericides 
can give but only temporary relief. Because : 
1st. Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen is the most powerful of all 
antiseptics. See page 2, " Comparative Tests." 
2d. It is absolutely harmless when it is applied either externally or in- 
ternally, all other antiseptics being more or less poisonous toxicants or ir- 
ritants. 
3d. The Borax, Boracic acid, Subnitrate of Bismuth, Extract of Eu- 
calyptus, and Thymole are not very dangerous, but their antiseptic power is very 
weak ; consequently, if they do not much harm, they don't do much good, and 
a complete and permanent cure can never be accomplished by their action. 10

CH. MARCHAND'S 
COMBINED 
Hand Atomizer and Ozonizer 
A vaporizing glass bulb, 2% in. by 3 in., with two openings, • 2?, neck, 
| in. diameter, allowing the hard rubber spray-tube C to be fastened or dis- 
connected. E neck, % in. diameter, connected by a rubber tubing, with bent 
glass tube F for nasal use, or with straight glass tube II for inhalation. C 
spray-tube which reaches the bottom of the 4 oz. square bottle D. Two rubber 
bulbs are attached to the air-tube. The working of this apparatus is easily un- 
derstood. The spray-tube is cleansed by passing clear water through it weekly. 11 
ist. Remove spray-tube C, fill up half of the bottle Z? with a mixture of 
i oz. Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen, 15 vol. medicinal, and 1 oz. C. 
P. Glycerine. 
2d. Replace the spray-tube C in position as shown in the illustration, and 
the apparatus will be ready to produce ozonized vapor. 
By quickly pressing the terminal rubber bulb, the air is forced through the 
bottle D, and produces a strong spray in the bulb A; the concussion of the 
spray against the glass pulverizes the mixture, then a large amount of dry 
ozonized vapor will escape in a continuous flow through the glass tube F. 
During the operation a large amount of the liquid condenses in the bulb A, 
only a small quantity of the mixture being vaporized, although a plentiful 
supply of ozonized vapor is produced. When the condensed liquid in the bulb A 
reaches the lower part of the neck B, it should be emptied in the bottle D, by 
disconnecting the spray-tube C. Then reconnect the parts and the apparatus 
is again ready for use. One dose of the mixture as above will last two or three 
days. Renew the mixture every three days. 
The duration of each inhalation should not exceed 10 minutes, and ought to 
be taken four to six times daily. Inspirations should be as deep and prolonged 
as possible; when taken for laryngeal medication, hold the breath and allow 
the vapor to remain a short time before exhaling. 
If it happens that the spray tube should get clogged up, disconnect the 
vaporizing bulb A, and the bottle D, unscrew the tip and blow both ways 
through the spray tube, or pass a thin wire through it, as you would do for 
any ordinary spray atomizer. 
Caution.-Remain indoors for a half hour after each inhalation. 
It is important to notice that this apparatus is entirely made of glass and 
hard rubber, as no metal should come into contact with Ch. Marchaftd's 
Peroxide of Hydrogen. 
Inhalations of compound oxygen is nothing else but monoxide of 
nitrogen, and are but an empyric treatment. The momentary relief 
of the patient is solely due to the stimulative properties of the monox- 
ide of nitrogen and not in the least to its therapeutical value. 
Conjunctivitis or Diseases of the Eyes. - A weak solution of Ch. 
Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen dropped into the eye destroys the unhealthy 
secretion and improves rapidly the condition of the membrane. One part Ch. 
Marchand's Peroxide to 8 parts of water. Irritation need not be feared. 
Cl'OUp.-Spray the throat and the nose copiously and frequently with I 12 
part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 3 to 5 parts tepid water, and administe 
internally every 3 to 4 hours % to I teaspoonful of glycozone diluted in a wine- 
glassful of water. Irritation or poisoning need not be feared. 
Cystitis.-Whatever is the cause of Cystitis (inflammation of the bladder), 
it should be treated as it has been explained before. See Diseases of the 
Bladder. 
Diabetes. - Peroxide of Hydrogen solution with ozonized ether has been 
recommended by Dr. Clifford Albult. It prevents the transformation in the 
system of fecula into glucose. 
Diphtheria.-This dreadful disease will always be surely prevented by 
irrigations of the throat administered with a weak solution of Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide: 1 part Peroxide to 8 to 10 parts water. The microbes, which are the 
cause of this affection, are readily destroyed from the contact with Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide, and the healthy tissues remain absolutely normal. 
When diphtheria is well developed, copious and frequent irrigations should 
be administered with 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 3 to 4 parts water; and 
in some instances, when the case is spreading very rapidly, it is advisable to use 
a more concentrated solution ; 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide to 2 parts water. 
The irrigations are made by means of any ordinary hard rubber or glass 
atomizer, and they are applied from one nostril to the other, as well as to the 
throat, larynx and pharynx. 
Internal Treatment for Diphtheria.-Half to 1 teaspoonful glycozone 
every two to four hours, diluted in a wineglassful of tepid water. 
There is positively no danger of poisoning or irritating while using Ch, 
Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen or Glycozone. There is no doubt that this 
treatment is the safest and the most certain of all. 
Dyspepsia.-This affection has been treated with very gratifying results in 
replacing plain water as a beverage, for a solution containing 1 part Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide for 30 to 35 parts of water. Glycozone, 1 teaspoonful after 
each meal. 
Ear Diseases.-The different inflammatory or purulent affections of the 
ear will heal rapidly when treated by Ch. Marchand's Peroxide. 
It should be administered in a spray form at least twice daily; then apply 
the glycozone on lint or otherwise. Ordinarily a mixture of I part Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide to 2 parts tepid water will give very satisfactory results. 
It is only in cases of indolent sores that Ch. Marchand's Peroxide should be 
applied full strength-in that of chronic purulent discharges of the ear, for 
instance. 13 
Antiseptic medication of the middle ear by ozonized vapor inhalations is 
followed with the most gratifying results. 
Eczema.- Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen should be applied 
to the diseased surface in a spray form, morning and evening. 
Allow the liquid to evaporate and then rub over gently the surface with 
glycozone. 
An appropriate internal medication should be prescribed. 
Empyema.- I part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 3 to 5 parts water 
should be injected after evacuation. The cleansing of the cavity will be 
accomplished in a very short time. 
Fissure.-Wash morning and evening with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide, 
diluted with equal quantity of water. Allow to dry and then rub the sore 
gently with a little glycozone. This treatment is unequalled in fissure of rectum 
and painful growths. • 
Local Gangrene.-When the microbes, which are the cause of the gan- 
grene, have not invaded the whole system, the local affection will be checked 
off and cured by frequent and copious irrigations of the sore, made with Ch. 
Marchand's Peroxide, full strength, and dressing with Glycozone. 
Cover the sore with a treble thickness of lint soaked into Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide, full strength. This compress should be renewed three or four times 
during the day. In some cases it will be necessary to bathe the affected part 
in a mixture of half Ch. Marchand's Peroxide and half water, during one or 
two hours, in order to insure the complete annihilation of the microbes. It is 
the most stimulative treatment which could be applied to gangrenous sores, 
and the presence of healthy granulations will soon become apparent. 
Hay-Fever or Coryza. - The treatment for catarrh applied to this 
troublesome complaint will give the most satisfactory results. -{See page gP) 
Heartburn.-Same treatment as dyspepsia. The patient will be relieved 
in a very short time. 
Herpes.-The different kinds of Herpes, and particularly the herpes 
Zoster or Zona, will heal very rapidly by washing the diseased surface with 
mixture of half Ch. Marchand's Peroxide and half tepid water. Allow to dry 
and then gently rub with glycozone. The internal medication should not be 
neglected. 
Itch will disappear promptly when treated by a mixture of Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide and water. 
Larynx, Diseases of.-The most powerful, efficacious and harmless 
treatment to be prescribed in cases of laryngitis, recent or chronic, is undoubted- 14 
ly accomplished by Ch. Marchand's Peroxide. Spray or irrigate copiously 
and frequently the larynx with a mixture made of I part Ch. Marchand's Per- 
oxide for 2 to 5 parts water. In many cases, ozonized vapor inhalations are 
very efficacious. 
Ophthalmia.-A solution of i part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 12 to 
15 parts of water, applied every quarter or half hour, in simple but especially in 
purulent ophthalmia in children, heals in half the ordinary time. 
Czaena.-Inject or spray the nostrils frequently and copiously with a 
mixture of 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 4 to 7 parts water. It will 
relieve the patient more rapidly than any other treatment, especially when the 
affection is chronic. 
Pharyngitis;-Spray or irrigate copiously and frequently the pharynx 
with a mixture of 1 part of Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 3 to 6 parts water, 
and administer ozonized vapor inhalations morning and evening. Appropriate 
internal medication. 
Phthisis Or Consumption.-The microbes, which are thecause of this 
dreadful disease, are almost instantaneously annihilated by the contact of 
Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen; consequently the most logical treat- 
ment for the destruction of this morbid element is by frequent and deep ozonized 
vapors inhalations. 
The ozonized vapor comes into direct contact with the microbes, destroys 
them and checks off their growth. 
The relief of the patient will be greatly accelerated by a suitable internal 
medication. 
When phthisis has not taken developments beyond its first stage, the above 
treatment prevents, in a shorter time than any other medication, the spreading 
of the infection and a cure is possible. 
Ozonized vapor has no corrosive, toxic or deleterious action upon the 
healthy tissues of the lungs; on the contrary, it has very powerful stimulating 
properties. 
Mixture for deep inhalations in case of Phthisis or Consumption: 2 parts 
Ch. Marchand's Peroxide to 1 part C. P. glycerine. Inhalations should be 
administered three times daily, but not more than six times. 
The duration of each inhalation should not exceed ten minutes. Remain 
indoors for one-half hour after each inhalation.-(See Addenda.) 
Piles.-Administer injections with a mixture of 1 part Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide for 3 to 5 parts water, half a pint every morning and evening. External 
dressing should be made with glycozone twice daily. 15 
Pyoemia aud Septicaemia.-Besides the general treatment in typhoid 
condition, the glycozone should be administered internally. Dose: I teaspoonful 
diluted in a wineglassful of tepid water, three times daily. 
Quinsy.-Irrigate or gargle copiously the throat with I part Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide for 3 to 5 parts water. In case of tonsilar abscesses, frequent 
irrigations will destroy surely and speedily the pus which is present. 
Scarlet Fever.-In sloughing of the throat, Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of 
Hydrogen is the most powerful and the safest bactericide for the destruc- 
tion of the microbes which are the cause of this affection.-{See Addenda.} 
Copious and frequent irrigations, or gargles, should be administered 
with 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 3 to 5 parts water. Glycozone should 
be used internally. Dose ha to teaspoonful three times daily. 
The cut below illustrates a magnified portion of an ulcer of the larynx.- 
800 diameters. 
Fig. i shows thebacteries of the scarlet fever. 
Fig. 2 shows the fibres of the tissue and globules. 
Scrofula. - Scrofulous Sores.- For sores, abscesses, suppurating 
glands, etc., Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen should be used full strength, 
the sore to be dressed twice daily with glycozone. Cover the whole with a 
treble thickness of lint soaked in Ch. Marchand's Peroxide. 
Skin Diseases.-The internal medication being followed, the best results 
will be accomplished with t part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for i part water. 
Apply to the diseased surface, allow it to dry and then rub gently with gly- 
cozone. Two applications every day, morning and evening. 
Small-pox. - Absorbent lint cut in proper shapes is dipped into Ch. 
Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen, diluted with half water, and applied to 
face and neck to prevent pitting. 16 
As a beverage, administer a mixture of I part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide 
for 32 parts water, or, glycozone, I teaspoonful diluted in a small quantity of 
tepid water, three times daily. 
Sore-throat.-Irrigate or gargle the throat copiously and frequently 
with 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 4 to 8 parts water. This will always 
prevent the aggravation of the sore-throat, and the cure will be accomplished 
very rapidly. 
Stop the use of tobacco during the treatment. 
Stomach, Diseases of.-In ulcers of the stomach, administer as a beve- 
rage a weak solution of Ch. Marchand's Peroxide, 1 part Ch. Marchand's Pe- 
roxide for 32 parts water. Take one teaspoonful glycozone in a wineglassful 
of water before or after each meal. 
In painful diseases, as chronic catarrh, chronic ulcers, cancers, chronic 
gastritis, gastralogia, the above treatment is unequalled. 
Stomatitis {Diseases of the Mouth).-In ulcerative stomatitis, gargle the 
mouth copiously three or four times daily with I part Ch. Marchand's Pe* 
roxide for 4 to 6 parts water, and stop the use of tobacco. A cure will be 
accomplished in a very short time. As a tooth wash it is unequalled. 
Typhoid Fever.-One part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 32 parts water 
administered as a beverage will prevent pyoemia and septicoemia. 
Administer also I teaspoonful glycozone three times daily in a small quan- 
tity of water. Appropriate internal treatment. 
Ulcers, Old Sores, Indolent Ulcers, Gangrenous Ulcers.-1st. 
Wash with a weak solution of borax and lukewarm w'ater. 2d. Cleanse with 
Ch. Marchand's Peroxide, full strength, or diluted with water, according to 
the tenderness of the sore. Use a soft camel's-hair brush. 3d. Apply the gly- 
cozone, pure or diluted, in the same manner. 4th. Cover the sore with a thick 
piece of lint soaked into Ch. Marchand's Peroxide. 
Two dressings, morning and evening, will keep the sore perfectly clean 
and sweet, and healthy granulations will be rapidly developed. 
It is important to make note that Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydro- 
gen and Glycozone are always preferable if used full strength, except when the 
sore is very tender. 
In ulceration of the cervix-uteri, inject three times daily 1 part Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide for 4 to 6 parts tepid water, and apply locally the glycozone 
on lint : 1 part glycozone for 2 to 3 parts glycerine, C. P. This treatment is 
safe, sure and speedy. A glass or hard rubber syringe should be used. 
Ulcerated Cavities.-Should be irrigated copiously by means of a 17 
syringe: 1st. With Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen, full strength, or 
diluted with C. P. Glycerine. 
Two dressings daily will accomplish a prompt cure. 
Ulcers-Specific, Recent or Chronic Ulcerations;-Should be 
treated locally with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide, full strength, or diluted as 
explained before. 
Glycozone should be applied locally on lint soaked into Ch. Marchand's 
Peroxide. Internal medication should be prescribed. 
Urethritis;-Injections of I part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 6 to 8 
parts water. 
Whooping Cough.-Should be treated with Ch. Marchand's Peroxide 
and glycozone in the same manner as diphtheria. 
Frequent and copious irrigations of the nose, throat, pharynx and larynx, 
with i part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide for 3 to 5 parts water, and half to 1 tea- 
spoonful of glycozone administered internally every 3 to 4 hours in a wineglass- 
ful of water. 
Wounds.-Deep or Light Cuts.-1st. Wash the wound with Ch. Mar- 
chand's Peroxide, full strength; it will stop the bleeding. 2d. Apply the 
glycozone, and cover the wound with a double thickness of lint soaked into 
Ch. Marchand's Peroxide. Two dressings daily. 
Vagina (Diseases of). Contagious Diseases or Purulent Dis- 
charges of the Urethral Canal-Leucorrhoea, etc.-Require appro- 
priate internal medication with a local antiseptic treatment. Injections should 
be administered three times daily with 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide to 3 or 
6 parts water, according to the tenderness of the infected surface. 
In cases of chronic purulent and contagious discharges of the urethral 
canal, the same local treatment should be applied, and immediately followed 
by injections of a small quantity of Glycozone, pure or diluted, Glycozone 
to Yt Glycerine, mixed together. 
The above treatment will accomplish a cure in half the ordinary time; and 
there is no danger of irritation or inflammation of the mucous membranes, 
notwithstanding that the remedies are very stimulating. Always use either a 
glass or a hard-rubber syringe. 
Womb. Inflammation or Ulceration of the Womb.-Administer 
injections in the vagina morning and evening, copiously and repeatedly, with 
1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen to 4 or 6 parts tepid water. 
In cases of chronic inflammation or ulceration of the womb, in addition 
to the above treatment, pure Glycozone, or Glycozone diluted with Glycerine, 18 
I part Glycozone to 1 or 3 parts Glycerine, should be applied with lint twice 
daily. The results arising from this treatment are unequalled. Relief is 
immediate and the cure is accomplished very rapidly. 
Yellow Fever.-The following is the only specific treatment, preventive 
and curative, of this virulent disease : Take every two hours teaspoonful of 
a solution containing 1 ounce Borax to 1 quart water, followed in fifteen min- 
utes by 1 teaspoonful of Glycozone. 
For rectal injections use Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen, I ounce 
to 3 ounces plain water, twice daily. 
For a beverage,' use 1 ounce Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen to I 
quart of water. 
This will destroy the microbes which are recognized to be the cause of this 
dreadful affection. 
As a preventive to all contagious affections, SPECIFIC or 
NO T, especially in discharges from the urethra and vagina, it will 
be found to be the most wonderful remedy for the absolute cure 0/ 
the disease. 
ADDENDA. 
Consumption.-(Seepage 14.}-In addition to the instructions given on 
page 14, I have received some reports recommending as a beverage the ad- 
ministration of Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen diluted in the proportion 
of 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen to 30 parts of water. The 
ozonized water destroys the microbes in the stomach, and this is a very desirable 
result for effecting a cure. 
Diarrhoea in Children.-By means of a soft rubber catheter inject fully 
into the rectum one pint of liquid containing 1 part Ch. Marchand's Peroxide 
of Hydrogen to 3 parts tepid water, to be followed immediately by an injec- 
tion of the following mixture : % ounce Glycozone, I ounce tepid water. 
This treatment does not preclude internal medication, which may be pre- 
scribed by the attending physician. 
Scarlet Fever.-(See page ip.)-In addition to the explanations given 
on page 15, some recent experiments have proven beyond doubt that the fol- 
lowing local treatment is the most efficacious preventive for secondary infec- 
tion : On the third day of Scarlatina Fever, sponge the whole body, morning 
and.evening, with equal parts of Ch. Marchand's Peroxide of Hydrogen and 
tepid water. Use a porcelain dish and a clean soft sponge.
