consideration of the recommendation of the officers of his regiment, and 
the brigade, division and departmental commanders, testimony 
to the previous good conduct of the accused, and their assurance that a 
repetition of the offence is not to be expected, the sentence ;s remitted, and 
Lisut, Conntiss will resume his sword. ,
