DROPSY Treated Free A VALUABLE DISCOVERY. DR. H. H. GREEN, TILTON, WHITFIELD CO., CA-, CURES DROPSY IN ITS VARIOUS FORMS. READ CAREFULLY. TEN DAYS’ TREATMENT FURNISHED FREE. H. H. pickepj}, Printer, 32 Broad. Street, Atlanta, Ga, CAN DROPSY IN ITS VARIOUS FORMS BE CURED? This is a question so often asked. When we remember the long reign of in which it has swayed its fearful sceptre; when we reflect that no clime, no age, no sex or con- dition of life can exempt or even give us partial security against its fearful ravages; when we remember that the young and the old, the good and the vicious, the peasant in his humble hut, and the autocrat upon his gilded throne, are equally exposed and equally susceptible to its unyielding fetters; when we look abroad and trace its destruc- tion back as it has swept over the broad face of the earth, and like a monster of Death, has borne to the tomb thousands and tens of thousands of the fairest and brightest of the human family; when we figure up the long catalogue of victims who have been swept away by its resistless powers, we do not wonder that the question has been so often asked, with deep solici- tude, “ Is Dropsy a curable disease?” Read and reflect. I hereby certify that about the 15th Sep- tember, 1877, 1 went for Dr. Moore, at Tilton, Ga., to go and see my son. On inquiry by Dr. Moore, he told me my son bad Dropsy, and requested me to call Dr. H. H. Green, saying he was the man to cure Dropsy. I immediately called on Dr. Green. He and Dr- Moore both came to see my son that evening. On examination, said my son had general Dropsy (anasarca), He was swollen from sole of his feet to crown of his .head. Dr. Green commenced treating him with his new plan of treatment, and in eight or ten da.t s all symptoms of Dropsy had disappeared, and be gained strength rapidly, and is in good health now. 1 do believe his treatment will cure all cases of Dropsy, if his directions are strictly followed. My son’s age, seven years. James Bracket. 5 Walker County, Ga., Oct. 27,1877. I hereby certify that I was badly afflicted with Dropsy of the chest (Hydrothorax), gen- erally called heart Dropsy. It was becoming general Dropsy. My feet and legs were badly swollen. My breathing was very diffi- cult; my pulse quick and irregular. It was thought I could not live a week. About the first of April last 1 sent to Dr. II. H. Green, of Tilton, Ga., and he commenced treating me under his new plan of treatment, and in the course of ten or twelve days all symptoms of Dropsy had disappeared, and I gained strength rapidly, and soon was, able to attend to the domestic business about the farm. I have no return of the disease. I do believe his treat- ment will cure all cases of Dropsy, if taken in time. My age is seventy-three years. Wm. Myers. Eatonton, Ga., Dec. 17, 1877. Dr. Green—Dear Sir: 1 wrote you in my l?st letter that I was going to send you a cer- tificate. In your answer you said if you did not get it by the 15th instant it would be too late, for your circulars would be in print. Was sorry I could not send it to you in time, for I know if I had not commenced with your medicine I could not have lived. I was treated by seven of the best physicians in this country, and all failed to give relief for more than a few hours at a time, i could not lie down day nor night, and had not in eight weeks. When I would go to sleep my breath would leave me, and would have to throw water- in my face before I could catch my breath. My clothes were always kept wet by throwing water on me in this way. 1 was swollen so it looked like I would burst all over. My legs were as large as a common man’s body. In fact, I could not walk, eat nor sleep. Would ha lo for breath. Suf- 6 fered no one can tell. All my friends gave me out, and in tact I myself prepared, so far as to fix up my affairs, and told my wife how and where to bury me. At last, having heard of your medicine by a friend whom you had cured of heart Dropsy, he induced me to try it. I told him there was no use, as I had tried so many doctors to no purpose. He said he knew you could do me good, and I found it so. 1 have not kept my bed a day since. I got clear of the water uuder the in- fluence of your medicine. I attend to my business regularly. At times I feel a fullness in my chest, and then I take a dose or two of your medicine, and it relieves me. I am in great deal better health than I have been for years. 1 commenced Dr. Green's treatment in March, 1877. If you see proper to use this letter, do so. Yours respectfully, J. P. Jenkins. Extract from a letter from P. C. Dill: Clay Hill, Ga., June 12, 1877. Dr. Green—Dear Sir : 1 make the effort to ■write to you—the first effort I have made to write to any one in six months. You are a stranger to me, but hope you will allow me to say to you that I shall never be able to repay you for the benefits received from your medi- cine. Hope you will accept my most grate- ful thanks for the present. 1 feet that as soon as I can I must go to Tilton to see you per- sonally. I think 1 can say, with ail truth, that 1 am to-day a living wonder among all who knew me. There is not a day passes but that some person cal is and must have me tell them about Dr. Green’s medicine; how it did me so much good after being treated by the best medical talent in the country to no benefit. There are no symptoms of return. There was a little swelling about my feet. I think it was caused by the sores on my legs, just above the feet. I am entirely clear of any swelling now. I think, in the least, you have reduced my weight, by taking out the water, 98 pounds. I am doing some of the sweetest sleeping I have done for four years, and oh! who knows how to appreciate such a blessing more than one who, for the last two years, night after night, spent sitting on the side of the bed. or up in a chair. With much respect, your thankful patient. P. C. Dill. Corbindale, Ga., Oct 23, 1878. This is to certify that my wife was badly afflicted with Dropsy. I had a physician to treat her who failed to arrest the progress of the disease, or give her any relief whatever. She was swollen from the sole of her feet to the crown of her head About the 20th of December, 1876, I sent for Dr. H. H. Green, having heard of h s wonderful success in the cure of Dropsy. He said my wife had (ana- sarca) general Dropsjr, and that it was fast merging into jaundice. Said he could cure her if his directions were strictly adhered tc. He commenced treating her under his new plan of treatment, and in the course of eight or ten days all symptoms of the disease were gone, and she gained strength rapidly. She has been in good health ever since. Has done her domestic work about the house. Took Dropsy before she was confined. After she was confined the disease advanced very fast. Dr. Green commenced treating her about three weeks after she was confined. I believe his treatment will cure all ca es of Dropsy if his directions are strictly followed. His treatment appears entirely harmless, and removes all symptoms of Dropsy like a charm. Her age, thirty-seven years. L, S. Faith, 8 Tunnel Hill, Ga., Nov. 20, 1877. This is to certify that I was badly afflicted with Dropsy of the chest (Hydrothorax). I could get no relief. In March last I called on the celebrated Dr. Linly, one of the firm of Green, Linly & Bentley, of Charlotte. N. C. He said I had a plain case of valvular disease of the heart; that he could not cure me. He gave me a bottle of medicine; said it would regulate my pulse, but it did me no good. I was considerably swollen in chest; my feet and legs were swollen; great diffi- culty of breathing; my pulse was irregular, and generally quick. I frequently had pal- pitation of the heart. About the first of April last Dr. Green commenced treating me under his new plan of treating Dropsy, and from the first dose of his medicine I com- menced improving In a few days I had re- ceived great relief; in twenty days all symp- toms of the disease were removed, and I gained strength, and scon wns able to go to work. No signs of return of the disease, and I am in as good health as could be expected. I suffer occasionally with flatulence. I be- lieve Dr. Green’s treatment will cure all cases of Dropsy, if possible to be cured. My age, sixty-three years. John C. Freeman. Murray County. Ga , Oct. 20. 1879. I hereby certify that my son. Wesley John- son, was badly afHic'ed with Dropsy. I had him treated by good physicians, and they failed to arrest the progress of the disease, or give any relief whateyer. He was swollen from the sole of his foot to the crcwn of his head; as much, apparently, as the skin would admit of. He could scarcely breathe or spf ak from pressure on the lungs. About the 10th of October, 1875, Dr. H, H. Green pomwenoed treating hipi ttpder tjje new plan of treatment. In the course of thirteen days all symptoms of Dropsy were gone, and he has remained in good health ever since. I honestly believe his plan of treatment will cure all cases of Dropsy if directions are ad- hered to. My son is nineteen years old. Richard Johnson. 9 Murray County, Ga., Oct. 20, 1879. I hereby certify that I am well acquainted with Richard Johnson and his son, Wesley Johnson, and know that he has stated facts in the foregoing certificate B. F. Wofford, Former Representative Murray county. Near Ringgold. Ga., Oct. 12, 1878. Dr. H. H. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir: T say that about the first of May, 1877, I was taken down with Dropsy. I had been for several months with a misery at my heart and a shortness of breath. About the first of May, 1877, I called on Dr. Broyles, about as good a physician as there was about here, and he said that I had heart disease, and com- menced treating me. I did not mend any; commenced swelling worse than I had been. I told Dr. Broyles I had Dropsy. He said I had, but it was caused by the disease of my heart. I asked him whether the Dropsy caused the heart disease or the heart disease the Dropsy. He said it was the disease of the heart that caused the Dropsy. I contin- ued to swell and get worse. 1 got so that I could not lie down without losing my breath, and my heart appeared like it would miss a beat in every four or five beats. About the 20th of June, 1877, I happened to hear of your wonderful success in the treatment of Dropsy, and I told the doctor that I was going to send to you. He said he did not think you could do me any good, but that T could do so. 10 I sent my son to see you, and you sent me ten days’" treatment, free of charge. 1 com- menced taking it according to directions. I had not lay down to sleep in five or six weeks before. The second night after I commenced your treatment 1 lay down about halt the night, and the third night 1 lay easy all night, and haven’t been troubled with that smother- ing at my heart since. That has been about sixteen months ago. 1 have been able to work ever since 1 took your treatment. 1 am confident that your medicine has length- ened my days, for 1 don’t think that I could have lived but a very short time without your treatment. My age is sixty-five years. I will now close. May the Lord give you good success with your medicine, for I believe it will cure Dropsy of any kind. John Hansard. Murray County, Ga., Oct. 21, 1879. I hereby certify that my wife was badly afflicted with Dropsy. She was swollen from her waist to the end of her toes, as much as the skin could possibly admit of. She could not lay down. She could scarcely breathe or talk; it was with great difficulty that she could raise off a chair. She had been afflict- ed with Dropsy, more or less, for years. Dr. H. H. Green commenced treating her, under his new plan of treatment, about the 20th of April, 1876. The swelling and all symptoms of Dropsy disappeared rapidly. In the course of twelve or fourteen days the symptoms of Dropsy had all disappeared. She gained strength rapidly, and has performed her do- mestic duties about the house ever since. She is stouter than she has been in several years before. She is thirty-four years old, and the mother of five children. B. F. Miller. 11 Eatontok, Ga., Dec. 23, 1877. I do hereby certify that I was badly afflict- ed with Dropsy of the chest, generally known as heart Dropsy (Hydrothorax). The disease made its appearance in the spring of 1875, and advanced slowly. I had good physicians to treat me. They fai'ed to arrest the pro- gress of the disease, and I was in a hopeless condition. I was confined to my bed; my feet and legs swollen as tight, apparently, as the skin would admit; my body badly swol- len ; I could scarcely breathe or talk from pressure on my luntrs ; my pulse excited and irregular; palpitation of the heart, etc. Knowing of the wonderful effect of Dr. H. H. Green’s treatment in a case of Dropsy of abdomen of one of my neighbors, 1 wrote to him for medicine, and commenced his treat- ment about the first of April last. In the course of ten or twelve days I was up and going about, and all symptoms of Dropsy had disappeared. I gained strength rapidly, and in the course of six weeks I went to work, and have continued in business ever since. I am firmly convinced that Dr. H. H. Green’s remedy will cure all cases of Dropsy if taken in time, and his directions strictly adhered to. I am forty-six years old. L. H. Garfield. Wai.halla, S. C., May 9, 1879. Dr. H. H. Green—Dear Sir: It is with pleasure that I send you this certificate, which you are certainly entitled to, for the restora- tion of my wife from apparently a speedy death. I will here give a brief history of her case: My wife is about 37 years old ; gave birth to her fourth child on the 11th of October last. In about ten days was up and attend- ing to the lightest domestic affairs. In a few days, however, she commenced swelling in 12 the region of the lower part of the abdomen. The swelling soon reached and ad- vanced downward, until it reached her toes. It then commenced an upward movement, and soon her hands and face were very badly swollen. In the early stage of the case I con- sulted a doctor. He gave me a prescription, but it did no good whatever. I then called in the best doctor of the county. He attended on her three weeks, but she still grew worse dady. I then called in another physician; he gave some relief, and said she must be tapped. There had been so many frightful taies of sudden death from tapping told my wife, that she would not But, finally, on the 12th of January, 1819, her breathing became very short and difficult, she consented to be tapped. About one and a half gallons of water was drawn off, which seemed to not be half, from the size of her abdomen. For the next three days we thought she was dying all the time, and in four she was as full of water as ever. Her doctor seemed puzzled to know what to do, as all of his remedies seemed to fail to give any relief, even tapping. About this time we received about a dozen prescriptions from Indian doc- tors and sympathizing friends. One of them reduced the swelling a little in the legs. Previous to this, however, one of her legs had bursted, and the water dropped at the rate of about one drop in three seconds, for several weeks. On the 22d of February she was tapped again, and one and a half gallons of water drawn off, and in four days she was about as full of water as ever, and in great pain—had palpitation of the heart, and breath- ing very hard. I now lost all hopes of*her ever getting well. About the 5th of March, the Rev. J. Owens came ten miles to bring one of your circulars to us. I wrote to von at once, and in four days received a sample box 13 of your great remedy. 1 consulted our fam- ily physician while waiting for the mail which brought the medicine, and asked him if he could not give some medicine to remove the water, and prevent its returning so soon. He said there was no medicine under the sun that could remove the water; he was doing the best he could with the case, and there was no use of him concealing the tact that she must die, as there was no chance cr her re- covery. He said he would go home with me and tap her again. The mail was now open; I received your medicine, and read the direc- tions ; you did not say tap, so I thought this an excellent opportunity to test your claims for your remedy. This, March 9, 1879, she took one dose, and in twenty-four hours about half of the swelling in the legs had assuaged, and a perceptible decrease in the abdomen; the second dose removed nearly all the swell- ing in the legs, and about half from the abdoj men; the third dose removed all the swelling and left apparently no water in the abdomen; and by the time the sample-box was taken, she was up and attending to the lightest household duties, when ten days before we had to carry her to the bed, or to a chair. She was as helpless as a child. Hundreds of people who were acquainted with her case are now greatly surprised to see her up again. She has now been taking your medicine two months, and is apparently well, but at your request, continues to take itto make the cure permanent and sure. I can very safely re- commend your remedy for Dropsy, and would advise the afflicted of this terrible disease to apply to you. Wishing you success in your great work for the'relief of the afflicted, I re- main, Yours respectfully, James N. Rutherford. Macon, G-a., April 11, 1879. Dr. H. II. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir’: 14 I have used your Dropsy medicine in twobad cases. The first was an old lady with ascites and general dropsy so badly that she had not been able to lie down in bed in two or three weeks. The relief w'as prompt, and in a few days she was able to take her natural rest, and by the time she had used the first box of Dropsy Balls, she was able to look after her domestic duties. The second case was a gentleman of mid- dle age. Bad case of general dropsy. His attending physician said all the hope was in tapping, and that could only prolong life. He had been tapped once ev«ry three weeks for three times, taking about two and a half gallons of water each time from the abdo- men. Being a friend, I visited him, and per- suaded him to try your Dropsy remedy, and offered to furnish him the medicine free, if he would only try it. He did try it with the happiest results, and in less than six weeks was able to go out and attend to his profes- sional duties. From what I have seen, I have no hesita- tion in saying it will remove the water in every case of Dropsy, and that quickly, if di- rections are strictly followed, and without that debility we should naturally expect from the free and full aqueous discharges which this medicine produces. The action of your medi- cine seems to be entirely physiological, draw- ing the discharge almost exclusively from the surplus water in the system, hence it is not debilitating, as is the case with ordinary hy- dragogue cathartics, and the most feeble need have no hesitation in using it according to directions. Many thanks, dear doctor, for the medicine furnished, as it accomplished everything you claimed for it, hence I cordially recommend it to all that have Dropsy in any form, and especially would I recomnjend the medical 15 profession to lay aside prejudice for once, and try Dr. H. H. Green’s Dropsy Remedy. You can use this letter as you see fit. Yours, etc., A. L. Clinkscales, M.D. [Note—Dr. Clinkscales is secretary and a member of a Medical Board of Georgia, for- merly a Professor of Anatomy in a Medical College.] Nelsonville, Franklin Co., Ala., February 1, 1878. Dr. H. H. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir: After considerable delay, 1 proceed to give you a history of ray ease previous to your treatment of it. In the autumn of 1874, I was taken with a severe cough. In April, 1875, I was suddenly seized with a difficulty of breathing. 1 seemed to be smothering. I could not lie down at night. If I did so, I had to be raised up frequently to keep me from smothering to death. I called in three of the best physicians in North Alsbama. One of them pronounced it asthma, another a disease of the heart, and the other said I had rotten liver. Each of them treated my case according to his diagnosis until my feet and ankles began to swell, then the humiliat- ing acknowledgment was made that it was Dropsy. I then obtained the services of an Indian root doctor, whose treatment improved my condition for a short time, then I was worse than ever before. About the 20th of December, 1875, the erjnsipelas seized my lower extremities. My condition was then horrible. My legs swelled until they were large enough for two, and were fiery red and as sore as a boil, for boils they were. My right leg bursted in several places, and first and last, a barrel of matter run out of the several openings. About this time I was tapped by Dr. W. W. Weatherford, and about a gallon and a half of water drawn from me, 16 I then lay down, face downward, and went to sleep, and when I awoke I was wet from my head to my heels. The water ran through both tbe feather and straw beds on to the floor. In this condition I was hauled to Prentis county, Mississippi, and put under the treatment of Dr. J. W. Rogers, an excel- lent physician. He cured my legs of erysip- elas, but not the Dropsy. Your medicine re- moved all the water from me in eighteen days. The water has accumulated a little since, but your medicine promptly removed it. I would have been in my grave long before now if I had not obtained your medicine. You ought to advertise it more extensively, so that all Dropsy patients could obtain it. There is no exaggeration in this statement, except, per- haps, the barrel of matter which ran from my leg, and that is close to the mark. I wish you to print a hundred thousand copies of this certificate, and send them by mail every- where. Gratefully yours, James K. West, M.D. [Note—I treated Dr. West in the fall of 1876.—H. H. Green. From JOSEPH MELTON. Pineapple, Ala., Sept. 24, 1878. Dr. H. H. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir: I am afflicted with Dropsy, and considered hopeless. Please send me ten days’ treat- ment, directions, etc. My age is fifty-six years; have had dropsy over a year; my urine is scanty and highly colored; my legs pit by pressing on them ; my pulse irregular and quick; my bowels very costive. I have had five physicians to try their skill on my case. The last one gave me some relief. [later.] October 11, 1878. Dr. H. H. Green—Dear Sir: Received your letter and medicine. I find it to act just 17 as you said in your letter. I have only used it six days, and have very satisfactory results thus far. I feel better every way; breathe easier—can now take a long breath; the swelling is greatly reduced ; my legs and feet are reduced to about one-half their usual size, and I can take exercise. Find inclosed fif- teen dollars, first payment. Please forward medicine at once. [later.] I am so much better. Am able to ride all over my farm horse-back; took a trip day be- fore yesterday to Greenville, about twenty- four miles, and stood the trip finely. En- closed find five dollars, which, with the ten dollars sent you a few days ago, makes the second fifteen, and last payment for treating my case. I am about well. [LATER—FROM DR. DAVID ADAMS.] Pineapple, Ala., Feb. 13, 1879. Dr. H. H. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir: I saw Mr. Joseph Melton to-day. His has been an aggravated case of dropsy. I treated him near a year ago with only partial relief, and concluded he would never be better ; but to the surprise of every one, since he com- menced with your treatment, he has greatly improved. His first symptoms were hydro- thoras, with irregular action of the heart, diffi- cult breathing, etc ; then general anasarca, with ascites soon following. He was then very large and an object of pity, spending sleepless nights and days, much of his time sitting on bedside by day and by night. Now he lies down and sleeps soundly all night; can ride out several miles with little incon- venience, and can walk all about his place with comparative ease. You will surely merit some reputation (he is a man of in- fluence) and will add something to your credit in the treatment of dropsy, if you have any aspiration that way. Yours truly, David Adams, M.D. 18 From S. G. ROBINSON. Chickamauga Station, Tenn., July 25, 1879. Dr. II. II. Green—Dear Sir: I will write whatyoar treatment did for my wife. She was treated by two physicians, to no effect, in February last. I heard of your success in treating dropsy, and wrote to you. You sent me the medicine, etc. Her breathing had be- come very difficult. She could not lie down; was badly swollen. I sent for Dr. Joe Giliis- pie, of Chickamauga, and Dr. Fowler, of Ringgold, Ga., to examine her. They both said she had dropsy; was full of water. And Dr. Fowler said the water was collecting around her heart; that she was liable to die at any moment I told them of having or- dered your medicine, and they both advised me to give her your medicine at once; said it bad done and it might cure her. She commenced your treatment, and in twenty-four hours she could lay down and sleep all night. In six days she was reduced to near her natural size. She took two boxes of your dropsy medicme, and I consider her perfectly cured of dropsy. She would have been in the grave long ago if I had not ob- tained your medicine, etc. Respectfully, S. G. Robinson. From WILLARD C. SMITH. Waresboro, Ware Co., Ga , May 10, 1879. This is to certify that my sister, Martha A. E. Smith, has been badly afflicted w th heart dropsy. She was badly swollen; great diffi- culty in breathing; pulse irregular and quick; bowels costive; could not lie down; had pal- pitation of the heart. She had been afflicted about, twelve months. I accidentally saw a circular of Dr. H. H. Green’s, of Tilton, Ga., 19 on cure of dropsv, and I at once applied to him to treat my sister. He commenced treat- ing her about the first of January, 1879, and the effects of his treatment were wonder- ful. She improved rapidly, and in a few days' she could lie down and rest well all night. She was able in a short time to be up and at- tend her house work, and is in good health now. Use this as you see proper. Her age 30 years. Respectfully, Wllard C. Smith, P. M. From Mrs. JAMES A. COLSON. Quincy, Fla., Feb 4, 1879. Dr. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir: I acci- dentally came in possession of one of your circulars yesterday. I have been a constant sufferer from dropsy for five or six years ; for the last fourteen months words will not ex- press what I have suffered. Death will never be any worse. I made my husband promise where I should be buried, and had no idea one day but that the next I should be a life- less corpse. Night after night I would sit on the side of my bed and pant for breath—if I dropped to sleep, all signs of breathing would leave me; they would have to stand by and throw water in my face to keep breath in me. Sat up in a rocking chair for six weeks; if I tried to raise anything in my hand, I would loose my breath; my lips would turn almost black, No tongue can tell my suffering. I have been badly swollen for fourteen months; my legs have bursted and dripped water; were sore for five months; ail the physicians say I am a living wonder—say my case is very complicated. I am thirty-nine years old. Swelling commenced in my chest; di- gestive organs not good; pulse quick and jrregufhr; bowels costive. Send ten days medicine, directions, etc,, at once, 20 [later.] March 4, 1879. Dr. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Have taken your Dropsy Balls, and must say that so far I have derived great benefit from them. I am feel- ing very well indeed; swelling nearly all gene. Commenced your treatment on the 24th of February, eight days ago. [later.] March 12, 1879. Dr. Green—I must confess I was very much disappointed to day in not receiving any medicine from you. Your ten days’ treatment did me so much good. The swell- ing has all left me entirely, but I am afraid it will return. I thought you would let me have time in making payments. Every one who has seen me is perfectly surprised at my rapid improvement. As my case has baffled the most prominent physicians here, they say if you cure me.you will gain one of the greatest names imaginable. [later.] April 12, 1879. Dr. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir: I feel proud to know that God, through His all-wise instrumentality, has taught some kind physi- cian there was a cure for Dropsy. Our most eminent physicians said my case was entirely hopeless until they saw my radical improve- ment uuder your treatment. Thank God, a good friend from Tallahassee has come to my relief, and loans me twenty dollars to send you. Hasten to send me more medicine, as I feel a slight accumulation of water in my abdomen. Very respectfully, Mrs. James A. Colson. Atlanta, Ga , April 27, 1876. Dr. H. H. Green—Dear Sir: I nj>w pro- ceed to give you a brief detail of my7case of Dropsy. I had Dropsy two years before I 21 heard of you, and had three physicians to treat my case. I took to my bed the first of December, 1875. I soon became helpless, and had not laid down square on my pillow for several weeks before I took to my bed. I could scarcely breathe, and had slept but little in thirty days from pressure on my lungs. My doctors had pronounced my case hope- less. On the 9th day of January, 1876, my doctors told my wife if she had any talk she wanted to make to me, she had better do so soon, and if she wanted to see me die, to not leave me a moment, for I would die soon— was subject to die in a moment. I had heard of you that day, and I wrote to you about my case. You arrived at my house on the 11th day of January; examined me; said it was a bad case; had Dropsy of the chest, (Hy- drothorax,) but if I would take your medi- cine and strictly follow your directions you could cure me. I did so, and in three or four days I could help myself very well. On the fifth day I went to Mrs. Ransoms', about forty yards, and stayed an hour; on the 14th day I walked to my brothers, two and a half miles, and stayed with him two days, and then walked home quite easily7. I continued to take your valuable medicine for about twenty- five dayrs, when all appearance of Dropsy was gone. It commenced leaving from the first dose of your medicine I took, and dis- appeared rapidly; in fact, it acted like a charm in my case, which was a bad one. I an fifty-six years old; have lived in this neighborhood for fifty7-three years; I have been a citizen of this county longer than any person in it. I believe your medicine will remove all dropsical affections from any and all sexes and conditions, whether old or young. In the cure of my case you have made yourself a big name in and around At- lanta, I am now at work in my blacksmith 22 shop again, and am stouter than 1 have been for years before. I write this so others can see for themselves, and if they have Dropsy to not delay, but go at once and procure your treatment and live. You can use this as you see proper, but be assured you leave my best wdshes for yourself and medicine. I must close for want of room. Respectfully and fraternally, Thomas M. Smith. From W. S. KNOTT. Lebanon, Ivy., Feb. 19, 1879. Dr. H. H. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir: Your circular was handed me by our Baptist minister, Dr. Graves- Have had dropsy since October, 1877, and am greatly distressed with the disease. I cough up a watery mu- cus ; have been tapped ten times, the tapping being from three to seven weeks between times, and from two and a half to three gal- lons of water taken each time; have had my legs punctured and they would drip water. Swelling commenced in my ankles; consider- able difficulty in breathing ; at times have a sense of suffocation; frequently have a sore- ness between shoulders, and down my spine ; for the last six months my abdomen, feet, legs, back and scrotum swelled very much: my thighs and legs are twice as large as should be, scrotum Ivery large for last six months. I am constantly taking medicine to act on my kictne3-s and bowels. Please send me some of your medicine, directions, etc., to this plaee. [later.] March 3,1879. Received your valuable medicine last Wed- nesday. Was greatly surprised at your promptness. Was not getting along as well, was making arrangements to be tapped again the same evening I got your medicine. Commenced taking your medicine as directed, 23 and from the first dose to the present, I have been greatly relieved, more so than any tap- ping. Now only six days using medicine, and I must say to you that the water has nearly ad left my legs, and greatly reduced in my abdomen. I am relieved of short breathing, or nearly so. 1 sleep on my back, or either side. Will write you again at the end of the ten days medicine. jr.ATER.] March 9, 1879. Dr. H. H. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir: I have taken the ten days’ medicine. It has had a very satisfactory’ effect, for which I re- turn my sincere thanks 1 consider your medicine all that you claim for it. 1 feel as- sured that 1 am going to be permanently re- lieved by your treatment. I'send you $14, all 1 can get now. Please send me more medi- cine on recept of this. [later.] March 26, 1879. Am still improving. 1 am satisfied your medicine will cure me, and has been the means of rescuing me, besides I came by it accidentally. When 1 received your medicine and directions 1 thought it would prostrate me, but determined to try it, and much re- lief was received. If I bad money I would he willing to give you $500 for the relief 1 have received from your valuable medicine. Yours truly, W. S. Knott. From ALEX. B. SHARP. Grayhamville, S. G. Dr. H. H. Green—Dear Sir: I will now give you the details pf my sickness before and after your treatment. In Aug., 1877, was taken with pain in left side; called a doctor; he said my spleen was enlarged ; said it was as large as a man’s head, caused by having malarial fever; he gave me medicine for both but it done me no good, as I had fever con- tinually afterwards. In the spring and sum- 24 mer of 1878 my stomach seemed to enlarge and I had diarroea. I kept taking medicine from one and another, but did the diarrhoe no good. One of my doctors said J did not have a sound organ in my body and advised my parents to send me to Charleston to the hospital. So they sent me to Charleston. The doctor at the hospital told me 1 had fever cake of spleen and liver, and he would cure me in a short time. I was there from November, 1878, until Jan. 7th, 1879. I went home. I was much weaker than when 1 went to hospital. A short time after I came home my feet and legs began to swell, and the swelling advanced upward and into my stomach until I thought I would burst. I was almost as large as a barrel. I could not help myself any way, not even turn in bed, and still had the diarrhoea. Deriving no benefit from my physician I gave up all hopes of a cure. It was just then, in February, 1879, a lady sent me one of your circulars. After reading it I at once ordered your ten day’s trial treatment. On receipt of your medicine I at once commenced taking your medicine and discontinued the use of all other. It gave me great relief from the first dose. While taking your medicine the people would call in to see me. It was their opin- ion I could not live, I was so radically re- duced by running of the water. The physi- cians called in to see me and said I would kill myself if 1 continued taking your medi- cine, and also told my friends I would not live a week; but talk of that kind could not stop me from taking your medicine, for I knew how much better I felt. I continued follow- ing your directions and ordering medicine from vou, and I gained strength. In June I felt that I could do light work. In July I went to Grahamville, where I am now. I can do anything 1 want to and walk where J 25 choose. I am a wonder to those who saw me when so low. There is no doubt I would have been mouldering in the clay if it had not been for your medicine and God’s blessing. I do not believe there is another doctor in the world that can effect such cures as you do. 1 have gained twelve pounds in the last six weeks; will do what I can to extend your practice. May a blessing be upon you and your medicine. Your humble servant, Alex. B. Sharp, [later.] Beaufort, S. C., Dec. 31,1879. Dr. H. H. Green—Dear Sir: I suppose you may be somewhat surprised to hear from me again. Now, doctor, 1 am working in a machine shop in Beaufort and am feeling well. ’ Alex. B. Sharp. Green Bush, Walker Co., Ga., December 20, 1879. Dr. H. H. Green, Tilton, Ga.—Dear Sir: The effects of your treatment in the case of Jeff New was wonderful. He had had dropsy since September, 1878; had three physicians to treat him. He grew worse all the time. Two of his physicians said he-was incurable. When I procured your treatment for in him Aug. last, he was then in a very bad condition; he was badly swollen ; had gr- at difficulty in breathing; was nearly helpless, etc. Your treatment relieved radically and be soon was going about, and there is no sign of the di - ease returning; he is in good health. 1 heartily recommend your treatment for dropsy to all who are afflicted with that terri- ble disease. His age is 26 years. Use this gs you see fit. Respectfully, R. C. Cupd. Jacksok Station, Pike Co., §. (]., December 8, 1879. Pr, H, H, Greek, Tilton, G-Vr-Pe&r Sir; 26 It is with pleasure that I send you this certifi- cate which you are certainly entitled to for the restoration of my health. I will give a brief of my case. In Seotember, 1878, I was taken with chills and fever. We called our family physician who is one of the best doctors in our county. In November. 1878, I began to grow worse. Every day my breathing became very difficult. I felt like 1 would smother to death. I had to set up to get my breath, and I grew worse daily until the first of February, 1879. Then my physi- cian said I had palpitation and must not be alarmed so much. About this time my feet and legs began to swell and I was soon swollen as bad as I could be from my waist down. The doctor's remedies all failed to give me relief He then said 1 had dropsy in the worst form, and there were no chance for me. Then we caller! an eminent pnysician that lived several miles off. He at once said he saw no cliance for me to live. T then had fever two or three days in each week. In July, 1879, all my symptoms grew worse; had very great difficulty in breathing; had great desire for fresh air; pain in my abdo- men and in my chest an ) shoulder; pulse irregular and quick; could not lie down. The doctor said 1 must be tapped; that would give relief for a short time only. Be- fore this I had my legs punctured. They dripped water.a week and was very badly in- flamed and give me great pain. About this time a very eminent doctor came from Geor- gia to see me. He and my attending physi- cian tapped me. It gave me but very little relief. The physician said it was no use for him to come to see me any more, for it was a complicated disease, and all the physicians in the world could not cure me; said he had done all he could do for me. So the family requested this other physical) to do all he could. He said he saw no chance to do me any good. It seemed I would surely smother. About this time a friend stepped in with one of your circulars and told us to read it. We wrote to you at once for a trial box of your medicine. From the first dose of your med- icine I found great relief and the swelling and all symptoms of dropsy rapidly disap- peared, and I am in betler health than 1 have been for years past, i was under your treat- ment sixty days through your request, though I felt perfectly well in half that time, and I don’t think any one can possibly be any worse afflicted wild dropsy than I was when you negan to treat me. I would advise any one afflicted with this dreadful disease to senu to you for treatment and be cured. I can safely say I believe you can cure dropsy of any kind. My age is 46 years. Use this as you see proper. Respectfully, N Meyer. Note -Read the following, it is in con- nection with the foregoing case : 27 From DR. A. PRBSK1TT. M e Beans Depot, Ga., Nov. 13, 1H79. Dr. H . H. Green—Dear Sir : I was at- tending a case of General Dropsy some time since at, Jackson Station, S. 0., and, finding it, as we physicians thought, incurable, 1 recommended your treatment, as I lmd pre- viously seen your circular, and the case 1 fully believe was cured by your treatment, and 1 now have a case which cannot oe remedied unless by you. it has been standing lor some time, but no doctor was called until a few days ago when 1 was called. He is about fifty years of age. So 1 told him i could not cure* him but you couid. and promised to write you for him 28 From DR. JOE A. GILLISPIE. Chicamauga, Tenn., Oct. 1, 1879. Dr. Green, Tilton, Ga.—For some three years my wife was treated by the best physi- cians in the country for ascites and disease of the heart with only temporary relief. I had determined on tapping. A friend sent me one of your circulars. To satisfy myself I visited quite a number of your patients. The benefits they received from the use of your Dropsy medicine determined me to give it a trial. The result thus far has been quite satifactory. She is now, and has been for more than a year, able in part to look after her domestic affairs, with general health much improved, and think her cure would have been permanet had it not been complicated with heart disease. She keeps your medicine and takes a dose every two or three weeks which readily controls the accumulation of water. I would most assuredly recommend to all persons afflicted with Dropsy in all its forms the use of your Dropsy Balls. Calhoun, Ga., Sept., 20, 1879. I hereby certify that my grand mother was badly afflicted with Dropsy. I called a good physician to see her. He told me she had Dropsy and did not think she could be cured, as she was old, being in her 7(jth year, but said he would do all lie could to relieve her suffering and make her remaining days as easy as possible. She grew from bad to worse. Her body and lower extremities were swollen until the latter had bursted and water dripped from them. Continually her breath- ing was very difficult. She had to be propped up to keep her from smothering. Twice she was thought to be dying. Her physician finally told me that she could not possibly live but a short time, and that I need not be 29 alarmed at her death any moment; that his medicine had ceased to take effect and that her case was utterly hopeless. She had not lain in bed for five weeks, but had to be propped in a chair. She was entirety help- less. About the 10th of last June I acci- dentally met Dr. H. H. Green, of Tilton, Ga., who said he felt confident he could cure her, and proposed to furnish ten days’ treatment free as a test of his medicine, and to the great surprise of myself and neighbors she began to recover from the first dose of Dr. Green’s medicine, and after taking the second dose she was so reduced by the running off of the water that she could sleep at night on a bed, and before the ten days’ free treatment was out she had gained strength enough to wait on herself at night, and it was no longer nec- essary to sit with her at night. She is now in moderate good health; has been visiting several times, and last Sabbath, to the sur- prise of all who knew her, she attended church in Calhoun, a distance of three miles from where she lives. Dr. H. H. Green’s treatment did all he claimed for it. Respectfully, A. M. Frix. From N. W. SCOTT. Butler Ga., May 24, 1877. Dr. H. H. Green—Dear Sir: 1 went to see T. McGee, of this county, upon whom you certainly have performed one of the most remarkable cures I ever saw; his case of dropsy was a hopeless one, and I found him plowing. London, Ohio, March 4,1880. H. H. Green, Tilton Ga.—Gear Sir: 1 was afflicted since 1875, suffered with general debility until 1877; I commenced swelling; I at once consulted one of the leading physi- cians in Columbus, Ohio, who pronounced 30 my trouble Bright’s Disease. He gave me the usual treatment for dropsy,(hydragogues), etc.; afterwards I tried two other physicians; I suffered from difficulty in breathing and general weakness, in February, 1879, 1 con- cluded to go to Blount Springs, Ala., as mr case had become more aggravated; the waters there did me no good. After being there about two weeks, Mr. Williams, general ticket agent of N. & S. A. R. R., recom- mended me to you as his father had been cured by you. I was so low I almost despaired of getting home, but concluded your medi- cine would be the last remedy. I sent to you for medicine and went home ; I commenced your treatment the 3d of April, 1879; after taking two or three doses, 1 could sleep well and begin to gain strength and felt better than I had in years. By the la-t of April I had decreased in weight forty-three pounds by being relieved of the water. My friends and neighbors look upon my cure as that of a miracle. I continued to take your medicine until first, of June, aud have not taken any- thing since. I have not the strength of former years, but feel as well as J have in many years. 1 am at my post in drug store eveiv day, save Sunday. in conclusion, I wish to bear this testimony in the midst of this skeptical world, that 1 attribute my trip South, and my cure through your agency, to a special providence of Uod. Wnat some might call accidental, I attri- bute wholly to my Heavenly Father's care and guidance. He led me South and He gave that kindness of heart which responded so quickly to the affections of others, which led a strangerto interest himself in my behalf, etc. 1 remain, yours, AUBURN SMITH. I prepare a veritable pill which is entirely 31 harmless, and is a sure specific for chills and fever, fever and ague, intermittent fever, etc.; is also a sure preventive of all malarial fevers. I will send a box of these pills by mail, postage paid, on receipt of three dollars; have u«ed them over 20 years; never known a single case where they failed to make a per- manent cure. IT H. DEAR SIR— Pleas e read this circular carefully, and send it to some person afflicted with drops}". By po doing you may be instrumental in relieving suffering humanity, as well as accommoda- ting me. There is no humbuggery about this matter, and my proposition to furnish ten days’ treatment free of any charge, and tell- ing what may be expected from the same, ouydit to be sufficient at least to prompt the sufferers of this terrible disease to try the ten dajs’ free treatment. It is entirely harmless, and costs the patient nothing to realize the great merit of my treatment. Could furnish hundreds of such testimonials as this circular contains, but it is unneces- sary. In ordering medicine, be sure to answer quest ions, and send stamp as directed on pages 3 and 4 of this circular. Respectfully, H. H. Green.
