Dear Michael:
I am extremely glad to have your criticism of Ward's paper.  I can easily see now the difference between your minutely quantitative studies and the very rough ones of Ward.  It's all the difference between a fine Swiss watchmaker and the machine which turns out Ingersolls.
It is a fair question, too, I think, whether Ward actually understands the complex mechanisms he is dealing with.  If you do not mind, I will show the letter to Rous, etc.
Helen has written Nina about the Philadelphia Orchestra tickets for next year.  It is a great disappointment to us, but Helen has become so sensitive to colds that we have concluded very reluctantly to give up the concerts.  We both thank you and Nina very much for offering us the tickets again and for all the years you let us have them.
