Dear Dr. Koop,
We are all praying for you and are confident that your confirmation is forthcoming. No force on this earth can succeed in thwarting God's kind intention toward you.
We have solicited letters in response to the unfavorable editorials written in regard to your nomination. We have been in contact with major evangelical organizations, and I believe the basic mechanism is set. If push comes to shove (and it very well could), literally thousands of pieces of mail can be generated to put pressure on those who would block the process of confirmation. You are an individual who is much loved throughout this country; while it seems apparant [sic] there are enemies at hand, it is equally true to observe there are many, many friends. We continue to watch and pray and hope.
What is particularly encouraging is that Congressman Hyde is prepared to go to the wall on this, if that is necessary. Our Congressional pro-life leadership sees the importance of the matter.
