I was very pleased to note in your April 1973 newsletter your
appointment as Ghairman of the Subcommittee on Science, Technology
and Commerce. It is becoming all too painfully abvioues that America's
position in the world, if not also its survival, is urgently dependent
on more rational policies of planning for technological progress,
and I am just delighted to see the good hands in which the leadership
of this committee is now vested.

As I have indicated in the past, please do not hesitate to
suggest any way in which I might be able to be of some help to you,
either in person or in helping to recruit others as support for
your responsibilities in this task.
