Dear Dr. Lederberg:

I apologize for the delay (vacation and holidays intervened) in
responding to your letter of December 22, asking for bibliographical infor-
mation on regulation of pharmaceuticals. So far as I have been able to
determine, there is no ready source of such a listing. I see that your
people are going to do a MEDLARS search, and while my understanding is that
MEDLARS is rather light on such things, I hope that it produces something of
value.

In the meantime, we are assembling a bibliography, and while it
is doubtless incomplete, I think that the materials listed will represent
a reasonable sample of the more useful literature on the subject. We will
get it off to you in a week or so.

If you have any difficulty running down any of the items listed,
I would be glad to obtain them for you. I do thank you for asking for our
assistance.
