Dear Joshua:

A Wisconsin constituent and student at Stanford, Jean
Schacht, stopped by my office for a visit a few weeks ago. She
is a student in the field of medical administration. I told
her I thought she ought to have the experience of meeting one
of the most distinguished scientists of our time and thus
suggested she call you during this school term. I advised her
that she need not be hesitant about calling, since, if you were
willing to spend some time occasionally with a politician like
me I was confident you would spend some time with a student who
might very well someday make a useful contribution to the com-
munity of humankind.

Next time you are out this way Carrie Lee and I would
be delighted to have you over for dinner.
