Time is moving along all too rapidly and a great many arrangements need to be made in the near future. I greatly enjoyed our session at the Center and am now writing to those who participated (including those invited who couldn't attend) to ascertain the degree and nature of their interest and as to whether or not they can make a contribution in the form of a relevant paper. A copy of a summary description of our April 19 discussion is enclosed. This along with the documents previously supplied you constitute a broad-brush description of the problem area. I strongly hope that you can see your way clear to prepare a paper falling somewhere under this broad and extensible . umbrella. Your brief outline of "The Problematics of Intellectual Organization" continues to intrigue me. I remember your disclaimer with regard to having the competence to write it, however, and your expression of the thought that S it might be best if you worked in tandem with someone else. Is there anyone . in the Stanford group that might function in that way? I have no suggestions > to make with respect to such a partnership. In any event, I hope that you > have retained your interest in the endeavor and are willing to make a contri- bution. If you prefer to discuss the matter, please call me collect at ad 919-684-3913. IL hope to be hearing from you soon. ~ Sincerely, Q) ~~. 7 a> Sh. (OOF CLS —, ue John C. McKinney Vice Provost ammBean JCMcK : mf Enc. JUN 1 2 1973
