Dear Josh:

I have arranged for you to receive FDA PAPERS. This is, I
believe, what I referred to during our discussion, I hope
you will enjoy it. It is somewhat different from most Federal
agency efforts along these lines.

CDC has not yet published its findings with respect to epi-
demiological evidence for moderate intellectual impairment due
to measles infections. I will attempt to find out from Dr. Tom
Chin at the CDC Kansas City Field Station how the work has
progressed and what data they now have and relay it to you.

I am intrigued with your suggestion concerning Dr. Hollaender,
and will look forward to hearing from him, Let me ask, if for

a short period of two to three years, you would suggest him

as a possible candidate for our Associate Commissioner for
Science. Again, I desperately need to have this position filled,
Any other suggestions along this line will be appreciated.
