Dear Lederberg,

—— _..... Many thanks for the sample
of Abopon which arrived in good condition. ~~
It has been much used already and a lerger
amow is on order’ I believe that I shall
continue to photograph my specimens in
water, but it is certainly a great help to
‘be able to preserve ones slides.

I enclose some very ancient
photoxraphs (to be returned at your convenience |
of the kind on which my diagrams were based.
Those strands of chromatinic matter between
separating structures.are always found and
not missing in Murray's new preparations
either. e

I am hoping that Fitzjames
can go to Brookhaven for the conference on
the biochemistry and physiology of the nuclous
in mid-August byt expect you will be too busy
to attends, —-;4+- ;
