Dear Dr. Lederberg:
You may remember meeting me at Pacific Grove,
the Summer of 1950, where I was taking van Niel's course, and
living in the Dotty Newmayer-Ethylene Lively (my best regards
to her, if she's #411 with you)-et. al. household, Now I am
back in my home country , planning to keep on doing research in
Neurosporelogy, which I shall do at the Instituto de Investipa-
ciones Bioquimicas, with Leloir et.al. Among the essential
commodities I need, is the literature on the fia@ld. For that
reason I am troubling you. Could you, without getting into much
work, send me a set of the reprints of yours of which you may still
have covies available for distribution? I am interested in the
papers on microbial genetics in general, and most particulary
in those dealing with Neurospora (would you perchance have any
copies of the one of Ryan and yourself on leucineless Neurospora?)
and those dealing with carbohydrases in bacteria.

I would also be extremly thankful if my name
could be included in you reprint mailing list for future publica-
tions. oe *

IT notice that a collection of pavers in
microbial genetics has come out under your editorshipe I wonder
if 1t would be possible to get a copy of it from the editors in
order to make a review of it for Cursos y Conferencias, a scienti -
fic and literary publication of solid prestige in Brgentina. This
would be very convenient for me (foreign exchange is an extremly
expensive commodity in Argentina, at black market rates) and ,I
believe, good bussines for the publisherse

If you ever find the time to write a few lines,
I would be very anxious to know the present status of the "L-form'
story, of which I only know badly understood rumors and thus
want to set straight in my mind.
