JOHN E. PFEIFFER NEW HOPE, PA. April 26, 1958 Dear Dr. Lederberg, Thank you very wuch for your reprints and most helpful letter. My danger always in preparing a book for the laymen is that I get interested considerably beyond the depth of materiel I can hope to include in what will be a nontechnical book. In other words, I tend to over- research. But your suggestions are most tempting. I hadewritten Orick and plan to see him at Cambridge in the fall. But Florkin wasn't on my list, nor was'van de Hulst. I shall make a special effort to see them as well as Buchner and the Paris group. I believe I told you that my base of operations after mid-june or thereabouts will be the Naples Zoological Station, mainly because I want to do ‘some Organizing of material and perhaps even a start on the writing. It is a heavy schedule, but I'm looking forward to it-- and to meeting you, at home or abroad. Yours, Ke
