INDIANA UNIVERSITY Science Hall 101 BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA ‘EPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY September 22, 199 Dr. Joshua Lederberg Assistat Professor of Genetics College of Agriculture The University of Wisconsin Madison 6, Wisconsin Dear Lederberg: I had the same idea as you about assigning my article,"The Gene", to a cl for their reading. Unfortunately I have only re copies left, these being extras that I had mimeographed since I was originally supplied with only 250 copies by the British. However, I find that I saved the stencils, so I will send these in to have some more mimeographed. In the meantime, I am sending you three of amy the mimeographed copies which I have now, and will hold the others for my own class. As the University is just opening, the mimeograph bureau is probably very busy, and so it may be that you will not get the other copies for some weeks. With kindest personal regards to you and Mrs. Lederberg, Yours sincerely, He de a HJM:hs Enc. undex—separate—cover
