presented an excellent outline of the summary you gave us when you
suggested that the Academy should hold a conference on the subject
of "Research in Outer Space.” The Committee has now asked me to
write to you and ask if you would be kind enough to present them
with an outline of the scope and the ideas that you now have for a’
tentative program for such a conference. With your tremendous com-
prehension of the present coverage of the field, I am sure that such
an outline from you would very ably serve as a directional finder
