Dear Joshua:

I showed your letter of the sixteenth and my reply
to Dr. Cannon.

He suggested that the best person to advise you was
Dr. Dryden, the Home Secretary of the Academy.

His only other comments were about the same as mine,
that since it was the Botanists who got you into the Academy,
they might well be offended if you joined another section at

this time. Later on, if you should decide you wanted to shift
to another one, you could do so.
