iC [~ a 19 March 1962 Guy M. McKhann, M. D. Department of Neurology Massachusetts General Hospital Boston 14, Massachusetts Dear Qoctor McKhaun: We thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Huttenlocher's visit out here and are very grateful to you for introducing him to us. I would like to refer you to ay letter of 17 January 1962 since I do not believe there is any necessity for me to repeat that we would like you to join us here at the previously agreed upon rank and salary. We realize fully the problema of an investigative program in neurochemistry and the need for apace and initiating funds. I de not think that I need to go into much detail as to the obvious support you would get from us in that direction. As you know we believe that the nevrological signs a@re probably one of the most important aspects of Pediatrics and, therefore, require wholehearted support within the Department. Fron our previous conversation I am assuming that this offer would be effective as of February 1, 1963. Since we have now met and considered you and Dr. Huttenlocher, I think it only fair that we receive a decision fron beslea you within the next couple of weeks. I have written to Dr. Adame informing him that we were interested and it is only appropriate that you both discuss these offers with him and Dr. Dodge. I might add that if there is any problem or doubt, you or Dx. Huttenlocher should feel free to call me so that we could have some discussions. I hope that with these additions and changes in yours and my thoughts, you will find it relatively easy to make a decision and to accept our offer. Sincerely yours, Norman Kretchmer, M. D., Ph. D.
