Dear Josh,

I am not sure what continent you are on at the moment,
but I feel sure that mail wil: be forwarded.

I enclose a suggested draft of a letter, on which you
might care to comment. I've no idea who should write it,
whether a few individuals as individuals, or as corresvonding
members of the Academy of Sciences of the U.S.S.R., or as
officials of learned societies. (In the last case, this
might depend on prior support by the membership. ) I don't
know whether it should be written at all.

Incidentally, if you happen to know of an English
translation of Bot. Zhurn. 43:1135, I'd be most interested
to see it. Our Russian knowledge is stil! very rudimentary,
and reading ability very slow. (This is no excuse for
confusing my with yw, I must admit.)

I trust thet you and Esther are tolerating the winter
heat, and that things are going well in general.
