The letter of Scarano that you forwarded is sad and
ironic. Both Paul Berg and I know his case very well and fam
we cannot become at all enthusiastic about his joining us for
fellowship work. Iam therefore returning the correspondence
for your file.

I really hope you are planning to come to visit us soon;
there are many matters which have to do with the graduate and
medical school curriculum, equipment, and university and med-
ical school appointments that we could profitably discuss, One
suggestion I have is that you come here when Henry Kaplan is
planning to visit, some time at the end of this month; I don't
know the specific dates, but can let you kndw as soon as I find

out,
