334 FAIRHILL ROAD WYNNEWOOD, PA. January 8, 1965 Professor Joshua Lederberg Department of Medical Genetics Stanford University Palo Alto, California Dear Josh: I am enclosing my Curriculum Vitae and a bulletin of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. Please note that there are three departments in the Veterinary School, Animal Biology, Veterinary Biology and Applied Veterinary Medical Sciences. The Department of Animal Biology comprises labs of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology and Pharmacology. As far as I know, this is the only school in the United States which has integrated three or four “old time" departments into one division. If Stanford University would desire to "coalesce" the departments of Anatomy, Physiology and Path- ology, you could call the new division the Department of Morphology and Pathobiology. If you think that the new division may be objected to by the faculty, the name can be changed to Morphology and Cell Biology. It is needless to say that I am very interested in the possibility of developing such a structure and I hope you will let me know what progress can be made in this field. 334 FAIRHILL ROAD WYNNEWOOD, PA. Professor Lederberg - 2- Jan. 8, 1965 I do not have at present copies of the new biennial report. However, we are getting galley proofs on January 15 and will have the booklet available by the end of this month. I shall pro- vide you with a copy of such a report and please let me know if you have need for more copies of my CV and of the report. As Boris possibly told you, Irene is starting to stain her preparation with the fluorescein diacetate. We shall keep you informed about the results. It was wonderful to see you and Ester and I take the opportunity again to thank you for your hospitality. Please write to me at my home address and let me know about developments. Sincerely, Encls.
