334 FAIRHILA. ROAD WYNNEWOOD, PA. January 27, 1°6€2 Dear Josh: I am most interested in the paragraph of your letter to Hilary referring to an enclosure concerning the problems of mongolism which we discussed in Wynnewoode Please cdo mail the intended enclosure for me, which you inadvert-~ ently failed to stick in the envelope. I am pleased to advise you that I have an appointment to see Dr. Kilis in Washington on Tuesday, January 31. SHe agreed to see me in connection with the problem of mongolism as a result of my attempt to set up an inter- view with Dr. Masland. I had several prelin- inary discussions with a gynecologist on our staff and with chromosome experts at Wistar and the University of Pennsylvania in order to clarify in my own mind the best approach to the problems which we discussed. We are uneble so far to find any reference in the literature to a techniaue of collecting amniotic fluid in the 4th month of pregnancy which woulc not induce abortion as a rule. I woncer whether, when you menticned that this could be done, you were just referring to the technical ability of collecting the fluid or whether you had a definite source of informaticn that it could be done safely encugh to preclude the interruption of pregnancy. Flease do reasrure me in this respect, letting me know the scuree and 334 FAIRHILL ROAD WYNNEWOOD. PA. page 2 nature of the information. In anticipation that things will be pushed ahead, I am planning to let you know abcut their prorréss. Most cordially, tem NE Pere med IK:eb Irena Koprowska
