he INST. FOR TUMOR BIOLOGY Me; KAROLINSKA INSTITUTET STOCKHOLM 60 October 20,1958 Dear Josh, many thanks for your letter. I do not intend to come to the USA this year. You will hear more from me before the end of this month. Love, PERE R jae A ia Cve, PS.Prof.Malmgren and Hedén of the Bacteriology Dept.have asked me to ask you whether you would be able to recommend anybody whom they could invite to spend a certain amount of time at their labovatory and teach microbial genetics to bacteriologists at the research level. They would very much like to have tix the field started in Sweden (as you know, there is just nothing going on)and feel that this might be the best way. If a suitable person would be ae vailable to sey spend anything of the order of a year or six months,do his own xesera research (they have the most excellent laboratory facilities in the area)and teach the others in any important area of microbial genetics, they would get busy in trying to get the necessary grant to finance the undertaking. If you have any suggestion,it would be very much appreciated.
