Excuse me for my long negligence in writing you.
I thank you very mich for your kindness in giving Mr. Y. Hirota
an opportunity to study microbial genetics under your guidance.
Your works are always talked about in the discussion of microbial
genetics in my laboratory, and I am honored to send one of my
students to your laboratory.

He is still young and not good at English conversation,
but I can vouch for his ability as a scientist. TI shall be
very glad if you would look after him during his stay in your
laboratory.
