Szilard ought at least to be member of American Philosophical Society.  Vincent du Vignent suggested to me that you contact Wendell Stanley concerning membership for Szilard in American Philosophical Society.  I spent an hour with Szilard.  Our lively conversation moved from transferase in K-12 to dances of Yudian bees to H bomb.  His ideas in the later direction I find truthful and unsentimental.  Yesterday I had a delightful reunion with J.R. Oppenheimer.  He has become actively interested in Molecular Biology as a topic at [ . . . ] for Advanced Studies - - also to touch off, if possible the development, in the biology dept. at Princeton University.  The beginning is very important and I did not hesitate to emphasize you as the right man to initiate it.  Hope you don't mind.
