Dear Josh,
Since I am entering[?] a couple of biochemists (any the McElroy) for memberships in the Nat Academy of Sciences I would suggest that you and Al Hershey (if somebody else haven't done it already) proposed Seymor [sic] Benzer, Seymor [sic] S. Cohen and Rollin D. Hotchkiss.  Max Delbruck would probably take care of Benzer anyhow.  Seymor [sic] Cohen is close to biochemistry and I might drop a line to Arthur Kornberg.  Anyhow the Academy needs fresh blood.

P.S. After X-mas I will write you a letter about an idea about a symposium at the National Academy on something like "The Molecular Basis for Interaction of Alleles"
