Dear Joshua,

Thanks for your letter of July 15. Do you have any
references to the Gal 3 mutant? If you have, please send
them to me as soon as possible. I am writing a review for
Advances in Enzymology. In this review I had a Section on
Genes and Enzymes which I first gave up because Nord
wanted the manuscript right away. When I told him that I
had made the article briefer and cut out a discussion on
gene-enzyme interrelation, he gave me three extra weeks
since he particularly welcomed a discussion of such
problems in Advances in Enzymology. I will, therefore,
try to formulate an additional section but it will only
comprise one~half to three-quarters of a page. I shall
send you a copy. I will also discuss it with Kiyoshi.

Best regards to you and Esther from both of us. I am
anxious to hear about your trip. I take off October 10
for Japan, India, Israel and Europe.
