403, 1952). This will be most helpful for orientation
in two fields in which I am particularly interested,
mitochondria and lysogenic phages, as well as affording
background on a number of subjects of which I know
very little.

Your papers are so important that
they are widely and assiduously studied. Can you per-
haps forgive an older scientist for suggesting that
they could be useful to an even wider circle of scient-
ific readers were the ratio of algebrai@ symbois and
Greek roots to generally understood English words some-
what reduced. Do you not feel that we do sometimes
impede the broad scientific integrations that we seek
to foster by the technicality of our communication?
