it is a very long time ago that I wrote you and heard of
you personally.

In the last 23 years + worked towards a Ph.D. degree in

the Dept. of Sacteriology, McGill University. A few days ago

I finished writing up my thesis entitled: Cytological and gen=
etic studies of mycobacteria,

You may remember that since 1956 it was always my desire
to come to work in your laboratory. *he purpos* of writing my
letter is to ask you whether you could offer me a research job
in your Department, even if only for a limited pericd of time:
6 to 12 months, 1 would be very happy if after obtaining the
PhD. degree and almost simultaneously the Ccnadian citizenship
I could come somtimes next Summer or Fall or later to work
with you and g°t closely acquainted with the methods you employ
in your highly appreciated laboratorye
