If you would be kind enough to let me know how the planning or your research activities about nervous »roteins in connection with mental retardation is zetting along, I would anvreciate it. In Janan there is no medical research institute for mental retardation, but there are some classes for mentally retarded children in the educational system. So, we are now laying a vlan for the foundation of the research institute for mental retar- dation in Kumamoto University. One of our planners, Professor Toshiro Murata, is now workins with Professor J. H. Quastel in. Montreal, Canada, I believe that you are supreme among those who are interested in the introduction of molecular biology into the field of Neuro- osychiatry, and that your farsighted advice and sussestions will ereatly help us to encourage and further our research activities. I still have a desire to learn advanced techhiques and ideas in your laboratory. If tnere is no research nosition for me in your institute, would you please introduce me to any other 1 laboratory which seems to suit with my research interest ? I vould sreatly avvreciate it if you would do me a favor, Honing to hear from you in the near future. Yours sincerely (ep ele ge ( Kazutami Kiyota, vi. D.
