Dear Joshua,

the answer to all your problems on fer-
tility is vrobably in the enclosed programme of research
for Iceland. Please let me know your reactions. This
might be set up in a relatively short time, if money is
available. As to your questions, I am ew little skevti-
cal on using geneticists for birth order and fertility.
Kost of them have not completed families and country-
to-country variations are probably very serious. I am
afraid I do not know of any data.

There is no improvement sofar for our
financial problems, as there will be such a serious cut
in all American sources of financial aid. Please keen
informing me of all possible new sources.

All the information you sent were very
interesting. You seem to have a number of new toys in
the lab! It is more probable that I can visit you in
January rather than December. The summer is still a
problem, though I am sure I will see enough things in
January that I will try to come at least for vart of
the summer. I am enjoying Walter's visit here and we
are working at the book.
