Dear Joshua,

I have been very pleased to hear that
Lin Moses has managed to find a person to give the first
part of the course in Human Statistical Genetics, and
that this person is Walter Bodmer. I will have to get a
visa, which should not be too difficult nowadays, and
therefore hope to be in Stanford for three weeks starting
with July 15.

I understand Lin Moses is willing to take
on himself the trouble of looking for a house for me. As
I will be alone this will not be difficult, though a
room in a hotel might be a little too expensive. If you
have any good advice I will be happy to know.

Please let me know if you and Ester have
any specific wishes of things from Italy.

We have enjoied your descriptions of Japan
and I hope to hear more. Too bad Alba cannot come, but the
stay is short, the journey is expensive and the children
need at least one parent.
