Dear Joshua,

I have obtained my visa as a temporary worker, which I am
told is a very distinguished one as it is usually reserved for
Singers. I have asked for a tentative reservation for Sunday,

March 16, in which case T will be in Madison presumably on the even-
ing of the 19th or 20th, as I want to pay a short visit to the
Rockefeller people and others in New York.

There is a possibility, however, that I may be unable to
keep that reservation, because I am supposed to take ane xamina-
tion in Health Statistics on the ljth and the examination may last
more than 24 or 48 hours. JI have asked that the exam be put forward
to the llth, but if this is not possible I may have to delay my
departure until March 19 and, therefore, would arrive in Madison on
the evening of the 22nd. This would give me about a week to talk
about the work and become familiar with the laboratory again, as

the Gatlinburg Symposium is the following week.

I have been offered travelling expenses to Gatlinburg
by Dr. Hollaender, who has also invited me to spend a couple of days
in his laboratory, and I have written him that I might oe there
sunday, March 30,

I hope this will be convenient for you and should anyhow
exhaust all possibilities for my trips in the States, because after
the Madison meeting I would like to settle down to work uninterruptedly
until the end of June or the beginning of July.

I am returning to you the Slip for the Madison Symposium,
We are very likely to travel together coming back from Gatlinburg
and so I have left open my arrival date, which you may fill inif
you already know it. I wonder if it would be convenient to book
dormitory accomodations for me during the meetings, because I may be
unable to find accommodation for the whole period before leaving for
Gatlingurg and it may, therefore, be convenient to have these rela-
tively cheap accommodations.

I will let you know as soon ss I can confirm my departure
date.
