Dear Joshua,

thank you very much for your letters.Please
thank on our behalf the Ryans. I am not sure whether
we shall be able to take advantage of their very kind
offer; it depends on how long we shall be able to stay
in New York on arrival as we would like to catch you
before your departure from Woods Hole. A journey toge=
ther should offer us plenty of opportunities for a con
versation which has been sofar forced into highly con=
densed style by the tediousness of writing, and perhaps
with more leisure than in the lab where you will be mo
re busye

Our ship is called Giacomo C. it should be
fairly small (8000-12000 tons depending on descriptions)
and the date of departure is still stated to be vaguely
around Aug. 15th. I do not know whether our arrival will
be elevated to the honour of quotation on the New York |
Tgmes, in view of the shallCness of the size (of the
ship), Ir you could let Bernie Davis know about your pro
posed date of departure from Woods Hole, we shall be ab=
le to judge on srrival whether we can catch you or not
before your departure from there, and wire you our plans
accordingly.

I shall write again as soon as the date or
departure will be known more exactly. The date of arri
val is apparently bound to be oscillating anyhow.
