Dear Dr. Lederberg:

I am writing to ask for your assistance in finding a
man who would like to undertake an investigation of
genetics of malaria parasites as a member of our
laboratory in Bethesda. We are particularly interested
in the genetics of drug resistance and have available
various interesting strains of malaria of mice and
chickens as well as facilities for maintaining their
mosquito vectors.

We can offer several different modes of employment,
depending on the experience and qualifications of the
applicant. These include a Reserve Commission in the
Public Health Service, a two-year appointment as a
Senior Fellow or appointment in the Civil Service.
