Dear Joshua and Esther:

I sent off the Serratia cultures for Esther before I left for Utah, so I expect
they have arrived by now. I guess Hertzenberg has filled you in on the (ugh)
Symposium by now. I flew back to Chicago with Jim Crow which along with see-
ing Hertzenberg was the best part of the whole trip.

Lindegren asked me the same question over and over after the paper I presented
in Phila. and although I answered him four times, he still didn't seem to hear
me. I think he doesn't have all his marbles anymore.

By & the way, the GSS approved the application(in case you hadn't heard), but,
as you know it still faces the Council. The whole GSS session was horribly
tedious and seems to be getting worse each time. Jim and I both wish you
were still & with the group for many reasons.
