Sonneborn Department of Zoology Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana Dear Dr. Sonneborn: I regret very much that you have had to change your plans regarding the summer, and I wish we could do something to avoid the necessity for that chanze. If it is a question of finances, I will be very glad to let you have a fellowship of $60 during August, which would more than cover your traveling expenses for the Symposium. . * We are talking a great deal about various approaches for testing the physical basis of genes and chromosomes, and your material might be just what we are looking for to carry on some experiments. Your presence here would help in our “A soussions. In my letter of March 20 I omitted! to give you the information regarding length of papers ‘that is being sent to all participants. There is no set limit for the length of single presentations; but it seems preferatle to keep the time to between 40 and 50 min- utes, and not longer than one hour. Last year the lenzth of manuscripts ranged from 2+ to 25 printed pages, so that you can see there is no set specification for this either. However, I shovid like to keep the average length of papers to about 10 printed pages. permission Sincerely yours, LW Becueteg iDiaf iM.
