Dear Dr. Sonneborn,

I an enclosing a copy of a ietter sent to Preer,,in hopes that
fou might have sciae coment. Admittedly even the kinetic data asked
for might stiil be indecisive, but if the multiplication of kappa

were hot certcinly first order autocatalytic, espeolally at low kappa

' concentrations, the autonomy pf the plasmagene might be hard to main~

tain (in our ainds). Since i have not netdeed any place where this
assumption was examined closely in derivadg the enumeration formlae,
I simply wondered whether the yuestion ware still opan.
