Dear Lederberg:

Both Novick and I are now back in Chicago and I am writing to
you about the following matter:

We have set up a joint seminar (with the main emphasis on
genetics of micro-organisms) between the University of Chicago and
the University of Indiana. We meet once a month alternately in
Chicago and Bloomington. Luria and I thought that perhaps you would
be willing to regularly participate in the meetings held at Chicego,
the first one of which will be probably held on Saturdey, the <Oth
of November, starting in the morning.

The University of Chicago would be pleased to take care of your
trevelling expenses to Chicago and you might find it most convenient
to get here Friday night end also stay over Sunday if your time per-
mits. We wish to keep the group small, not exceeding perhaps a total
of ten participants. Please let us have your reaction to this.

I hope you had a pleesant summer and that we shall see you soon

in any case.
