Francois Jacob, in Lwoff's service of the Institut Pasteur, would like cultures of the P. fluoresens mutants that you made.  I lost my transfers on my travels, so could you send him some lyophilized tubes?  Thanks.
I had a wonderful time in Europe, mostly [...], although I learned a lot and had time to think profitably about scientific problems.  Am now all set to go on new [...] principally adaptive physiology of Rhodosparillum [. . .] (pigment synthesis) and intracellular structure (hunt for bacterial mitochondria [...] thereof).
