i ow Dear Frangois: I hope this reminder reaches you in good tim. We would be very grateful to you if you could send us some of your new phages, which should be invaluable to our studies of transduction. We would be happy to have whichever of them you are prepared to send at the present time, with some infor mation as to their properties (i.e., whether in the Gal~ segment or not, and whether you have already tested them for transduction). The materials that would be most appropriate for our immediate needs would be, say, #363, as a generalized vector of tra nsduction, and one of the UV-inducible neighbors of lambda. Dr. Qrskov will be searching for additional phages this fall. Needless to say, if we can exchange materials, or serve you in any other way, we will be very happy to do so-- just let us know what you might be interested-in and we will be on the lookout for it. Though it was too bad we could not have several more days together in ammx an undistracted atmosphere, we enjoyed the opportunity we did have to 'causer' together and with your wife. We will let you know of our own possible plans to visit Paris, probably about Sept. 10, 1957. I hear that Elie is coming to the US for a year soon. Good luck to him, and let me ask you to keep in mind when we may play host to yourself. Yours sincerely, Joshua Lederberg
